📰 In the news
Advisory panel sparks debate: Scottsdale’s mayor has called a special council meeting to consider a Downtown Task Force for Old Town, drawing mixed reactions and proposing property, hotel, and tourism representatives from key districts — get all the details.
No-money-down to equity growth: Grant Cardone will lead a two-day real estate training in Scottsdale on Jan. 12-13, focusing on passive income, cash-flow assets, and strategies to grow portfolios while reducing risk — get all the event details.
Kindness-driven coffee chain expands: La La Land Kind Café has opened its first Arizona location at Kierland Commons in Scottsdale, mentoring young adults aging out of the foster care system — get all the details.
Compare rates for free: The national average for car insurance is around $175 per month. Paying more than that? Same, so I did some shopping around and ended up cutting my premium in half. If you haven’t checked in a while, you’re probably overpaying too — here’s the comparison tool I used.
Protect your nest egg: Savvy investors are turning to gold amidst today’s inflation, national debt, and market uncertainty for a reason. It holds its value when everything else feels shaky. Case in point: it’s up ~62% since this month last year. If you’re curious about adding it and other precious metals to your portfolio, American Hartford has a super helpful guide that covers everything you need to know. It’s free, and definitely worth a read — check it out here.

🫶 We got your back
Post-holiday home safety warning: The Scottsdale Fire Department is urging residents to dispose of Christmas trees now. As trees dry out, they become a serious fire hazard that can spread flames quickly through a home. Removing them is one of the simplest ways to prevent fires. Read why quick removal matters.
Swap hops for apples: Need a crisp detour from beer? Six Byrd Cider Co. pours rotating, not-too-sweet ciders and slushies when the desert heat hits, all in a laid-back taproom that’s easy to make a weeknight habit. Chill vibe, clean finishes, zero syrupy stuff.
Refresh your nest: Craving a quick home glow-up? Bungalow Furniture & Accessories has a floor full of ready-to-take-home furniture, lighting, art, linens, and thoughtful finishing touches. In-house stylists can pull it all together, so your place looks collected, not like a last-minute cart dash.
Thinning hair? Same: I’ve been shedding a lot, and recently noticed my ponytail feeling thinner. After way too much panic-Googling, I discovered Keranique’s hair regrowth system. Everything with them is surprisingly easy: no quizzes, no pills, no choosing between dozens of products. Just grab the kit and follow the instructions. The best part? It’s $75 off right now, you’ll get three free gifts, AND you’ll get your money back if you don’t love the results.

This house is wild
This remodeled retreat has an open plan linking the kitchen to the great room. Solid-wood shaker cabinets with soft-close doors meet granite counters and GE slate appliances. Upstairs, the primary suite adds dual sinks and a rainfall plus handheld shower. Two more bedrooms and a crisp main bath complete the level.
Downstairs adds a private bedroom and bath for guests, a retro game room with a wet bar, and storage. Outside reads like a resort with a pool, gazebo, outdoor shower, and a generous patio and deck beside flowering plants and a mature lemon tree. On a .32 acre lot near Kierland and Scottsdale Quarter, convenience meets fun.
