📰 In the news
Book club spark to service: Dave and Dawn Burnworth in Mooresville started Bridge of Hearts in 2019 to give birthday celebrations to kids who never had one. The nonprofit now provides over 1,000 birthday bags a year from Huntersville to Harmony and has delivered at least 10,000 hygiene kits and healthy snack bags to schools. — read the full story.
Branding, parks and housing: From a $340 million Town1 project with Joey Logano to downtown rezonings and preservation plans, 2025 reshaped Huntersville. The town board meets today in the new Town Hall — explore the year’s changes.
Upscale housing market gains momentum: Charlotte’s luxury home prices have surged, ranking 10th among U.S. metros for growth since 2015, as Sunbelt markets lead the trend. Overall home prices in Charlotte also ticked up recently — see the numbers and trends.
Compare rates for free: The national average for car insurance is around $175 per month. Paying more than that? Same, so I did some shopping around and ended up cutting my premium in half. If you haven’t checked in a while, you’re probably overpaying too — here’s the comparison tool I used.
Protect your nest egg: Savvy investors are turning to gold amidst today’s inflation, national debt, and market uncertainty for a reason. It holds its value when everything else feels shaky. Case in point: it’s up ~62% since this month last year. If you’re curious about adding it and other precious metals to your portfolio, American Hartford has a super helpful guide that covers everything you need to know. It’s free, and definitely worth a read — check it out here.

🫶 We got your back
Explore civil rights history: Huntersville will honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. at David B. Waymer Recreation Center. Light refreshments, a mobile museum with about 400 artifacts from Thankful Heritage Museum, and local speakers and performers begin at 4 p.m. Get all the event details.
Freshen up your nest: Whether you’re restyling a shelf or giving the coffee table a quick glow-up, Knotty & Board stocks a curated mix of decor, candles, seasonal accents, and kitchen finds. Friendly, low-key styling tips help when indecision hits… so your space feels polished without trying too hard.
Cider without the fuss: Whether you’re cider-first or cider-curious, Royal Bliss Brewing Co. pours crisp, naturally gluten-free ciders alongside its beers on tap. Bring a mixed crowd, and everyone, beer lovers, wine sippers, cider converts, finds something to smile about.
Thinning hair? Same: I’ve been shedding a lot, and recently noticed my ponytail feeling thinner. After way too much panic-Googling, I discovered Keranique’s hair regrowth system. Everything with them is surprisingly easy: no quizzes, no pills, no choosing between dozens of products. Just grab the kit and follow the instructions. The best part? It’s $75 off right now, you’ll get three free gifts, AND you’ll get your money back if you don’t love the results.
