📰 In the news
Unit count rises downtown: Franklin’s Board of Mayor and Alderman discussed a proposal for Franklin Hill Project to add workforce and affordable housing on city land, facing a $4.1 million gap and seeking aid — get all the details.
Prestigious accolade explained: Williamson Medical Center was named to Forbes Magazine’s inaugural Top Hospitals 2026 list, earning a five-star rating and joining a select group nationwide recognized for patient outcomes and experience — get all the details.
Historic milestone for recruits: Franklin Police Department swore in seven new officers, the largest recruiting class in its history. Academy graduates serve the community, and the department is accepting applications for additional officers — get all the details.
Compare rates for free: The national average for car insurance is around $175 per month. Paying more than that? Same, so I did some shopping around and ended up cutting my premium in half. If you haven’t checked in a while, you’re probably overpaying too — here’s the comparison tool I used.
Protect your nest egg: Savvy investors are turning to gold amidst today’s inflation, national debt, and market uncertainty for a reason. It holds its value when everything else feels shaky. Case in point: it’s up ~62% since this month last year. If you’re curious about adding it and other precious metals to your portfolio, American Hartford has a super helpful guide that covers everything you need to know. It’s free, and definitely worth a read — check it out here.

Highlights this week:

🫶 We got your back
Reaching diners beyond guests: Joyland is now parked at Southall Farm and Inn, where Andrew Klamar, vice president of culinary, has opened a food truck. It runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., offers delivery on Uber Eats and Postmates, and is the third Middle Tennessee outpost of Sean Brock’s fast-food concept. Get hours and delivery info.
Rain plan with perks: When the kids have wiggles to spare, The Monkey’s Treehouse is a welcoming indoor playground for ages 0–8, offering open play, enrichment classes, drop-off sessions, and co-working, so they can explore while you answer a few emails and finally breathe.
Dink without the fuss: When the pickleball itch hits, Franklin Recreation Complex keeps it simple. WCPR runs open play and offers reservable indoor courts, so you can squeeze in a quick rally or plan doubles with friends, no court chasing required.
Thinning hair? Same: I’ve been shedding a lot, and recently noticed my ponytail feeling thinner. After way too much panic-Googling, I discovered Keranique’s hair regrowth system. Everything with them is surprisingly easy: no quizzes, no pills, no choosing between dozens of products. Just grab the kit and follow the instructions. The best part? It’s $75 off right now, you’ll get three free gifts, AND you’ll get your money back if you don’t love the results.
