📰 In the news
A night with a legend: Bob Dylan will perform at UT Tyler’s R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center on April 29. Some tickets remain, and the concert will be a phone-free experience — get all the details.
A new benchmark in heart care: UT Health Tyler was recognized by the American College of Cardiology with Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation, reflecting rigorous standards and success in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients close to home — get all the details.
Local dining scene shifts: Roma Italian Kitchen & Bar in Tyler has announced its closure after five years of service, citing “circumstances.” The company did not provide further details — read the full story.
Compare rates for free: The national average for car insurance is around $175 per month. Paying more than that? Same, so I did some shopping around and ended up cutting my premium in half. If you haven’t checked in a while, you’re probably overpaying too — here’s the comparison tool I used.
Protect your nest egg: Savvy investors are turning to gold amidst today’s inflation, national debt, and market uncertainty for a reason. It holds its value when everything else feels shaky. Case in point: it’s up ~62% since this month last year. If you’re curious about adding it and other precious metals to your portfolio, American Hartford has a super helpful guide that covers everything you need to know. It’s free, and definitely worth a read — check it out here.

Highlights this week:

🫶 We got your back
Nature and fishing unite: Trails to Trout kicked off Jan. 4 and returns Jan. 10 at the Tyler Nature Center. Texas Parks and Wildlife will stock 900 rainbow trout for kids and anglers of all ages. Use small line, small hooks, and light tackle for better luck. Learn tips and event details.
Add style, not stuff: Need a quick refresh? The Purple Finch Home Collection curates decor, candles, tableware, and giftable finds, plus a registry. Trade a few thoughtful accents for a room that feels pulled together, not buried in seasonal clutter.
Craving legit, dry cider: When beer fatigue hits, Trinity Cider pours bright, fruit-forward ciders in Deep Ellum, perfect for low-key catchups or a mini field trip when you want something other than the usual pint… no passport required.
Thinning hair? Same: I’ve been shedding a lot, and recently noticed my ponytail feeling thinner. After way too much panic-Googling, I discovered Keranique’s hair regrowth system. Everything with them is surprisingly easy: no quizzes, no pills, no choosing between dozens of products. Just grab the kit and follow the instructions. The best part? It’s $75 off right now, you’ll get three free gifts, AND you’ll get your money back if you don’t love the results.
