    See details

The new coaching staff for the Bloomington High School girls volleyball program is launching its home opener at the Bloomington High School Gym with a call for community support to create a spirited, celebratory environment for the athletes. Their focus is on building a culture where players feel seen, supported, and motivated to excel on the court and in life. As part of this effort, they are seeking donated balloon displays to brighten the entrance and court, DJ or music support to energize the crowd, and photography or videography to capture memories. They are also aiming for a full house in the stands to show strong Bloomington pride. The program notes that Bloomington High, part of the Colton Joint Unified School District, has often felt overlooked, and this opening day centers the athletes and the community standing behind them. Local businesses, alumni, parents, and neighbors who wish to help are invited to contact Head Volleyball Coach Karla Canez.

    The Kellogg House Ghost Tour

Heritage Museum of Orange County, 3001 W Harvard St, Santa Ana · verified Aug 7
    See details

In 1898, Hiram Clay Kellogg built one of Orange County's earliest Neoclassical Victorian homes. After the death of his first wife, he built a mansion as a gift for his second wife, Helen. His fascination with tall ships inspired a dramatic three-story spiral staircase that coils around a central mast and is topped by a crow's nest with no floor. Hiram died in 1921, and Helen remained in the residence for another 42 years, passing away in the same home. Unexplained phenomena reported in the uniquely crafted mansion suggest the Kellogg family may still linger within its walls.
