CLEAR THE KENNELS 2026

A community-focused shelter event invites animal lovers to help match pets with new families while learning about responsible care. Reduced adoption fees make it easier to take home a companion, with cats available for $15 and dogs for $35. Guests can meet adoptable pets, talk with rescue groups and veterinary partners, and explore resources on animal welfare, spaying and neutering, and solutions to pet overpopulation. Local vendors will be on site, and Sheriff Vern Warnke will be grilling for a casual bite. Each successful adoption frees space for another animal and offers a fresh start. Last year 40 pets found homes, and the aim is to double that success. Vendors interested in participating can email Cameron.Gibson@countyofmerced.com.
