Carboy Winery is hosting a hands-on vineyard experience where you will plant your own grapevine cutting and sip on some wine as you learn. The experience begins with a walk through the vineyards where youll learn about how grapevines grow, why Colorado is suited for viticulture, and what makes the growing conditions special. Then youll head to the workshop tables for vine propagation. Youll enjoy a guided tour, learn the basics of vine cloning, choose a grape varietal, take a cutting, dip it in rooting solution, and plant it in a pot with soil and perlite to begin root development. You will take home your planted grapevine cutting and a vine care sheet. The care sheet provides tips on caring for your cutting while roots establish, when and how to repot, and how to set your vine up for long-term success. All materials, instructions, and a glass of Carboy wine are included. Additional wine will be available for purchase. Athletes have regular access to a hitting coach. Training centers on fundamentals with structured practices and a focus on building a strong athlete mindset. The program is dedicated to developing confident, respectful, hard working players and contributes to the community each season. Participants will practice centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping forms, then select two favorite pieces to keep and choose a glaze color for each. Staff will glaze and fire the pieces after class, and they will be ready for pickup in three weeks. This session is designed for artists who are ready for the coordination and challenge of working on the wheel. Kids ages 8 to 12 can immerse themselves in the deep past at Dinosaur Journey Museum during a weeklong day camp centered on extinction, volcanoes, and Earth’s history. Participants investigate how powerful eruptions, moving continents, and changing climates shaped the age of dinosaurs and contributed to mass extinction events. Through hands-on experiments, volcano simulations, fossil exploration, and interactive activities, campers learn how scientists study rocks and fossils to piece together the story of our planet. Campers should wear sturdy shoes for walking and clothing suitable for outdoor play and crafts, arrive with sunscreen already applied, and bring a packed lunch, snacks, a drink, a water bottle, a hat, and sunglasses. A backpack is recommended and will be carried on days when the group cannot return to the classroom for lunch. The session costs $175 per child.

Kids ages 9 and older can explore the pottery wheel in a guided, hands-on class. Instructors cover the essentials of wheel throwing, including centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping forms. To wrap up, each participant selects two favorite pots and chooses glaze colors, and the studio will glaze and fire them. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup three weeks later. This session is intended for young artists who are ready for the coordination and focus the wheel requires, and it is strictly for ages 9 and up. The cost includes a $10 class fee or deposit due at sign-up, plus $26 for clay supplies with tax due on the day of class. Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance are eligible for a refund.

The Victorian-style property sits amid 21 acres of working vineyards that produce private label wine, with vineyard views and convenient access by bike or car to more than twenty wineries as well as nearby orchards and farms. Over a long weekend, participants explore the region’s desert terrain on foot across multiple local trails, with routes available for a range of experience levels. The water component features a focused stand up paddleboarding clinic followed by a relaxed outing on a gentle stretch of the Colorado River, capped with an optional dip that serves as guided cold water therapy. Yoga is woven throughout, including an all-levels SUP yoga session led by a knowledgeable local instructor and a peaceful sunrise mat class designed to restore energy and build confidence. When it is time to slow down, the schedule includes a casual bike tour around Palisade with stops for tastings at wineries and distilleries, along with opportunities to pick up fresh produce, honey, and other locally made goods. Downtime can be spent at the inn’s outdoor pool and hot tub, arranging a therapeutic massage or other spa services, browsing farm stands in town, reading by the pool, or enjoying a local brew, cider, or glass of wine from the bar. The package includes three nights of lodging, meals with just one lunch on your own, all scheduled activities with rentals and equipment, transportation to and from each adventure, and a digital photo album to remember the experience. Airfare, airport transfers, snacks, alcoholic beverages, spa treatments, gratuities for guides, travel or cancellation insurance, and anything not specifically listed as included are not part of the package. River SUP requires specialized gear that includes a class III personal flotation device, a quick release leash, and flex fins.
