Baseline Frequency & Yoga Nidra

Unplug and reset with a monthly third‑Sunday session that blends Yoga Nidra with a Baseline Frequency sound healing journey for deep restoration. Settle onto supportive props while guided breathing and a step‑by‑step easing of effort help the nervous system move from high alert to calm. Often called yogic sleep, this practice can soften physical tension, quiet mental chatter, and renew depleted energy. Throughout, sustained tones and gentle vibrations create an immersive soundscape that supports a shift from stress to repair. Studies on sound‑based meditation report notable reductions in tension, anxiety, and negative mood, aligning the body with parasympathetic activation and whole‑system recovery. No movement is involved... simply lie back, listen, and allow the body to unwind. No prior yoga experience is required. Ideal for anyone seeking deep recovery, stress relief, or a full‑body reset, with a chance to rebalance your rhythm and return to your baseline.

Midnight North

Space Ballroom hosts Midnight North for an all ages concert presented by Premier Concerts and Manic Presents. The Bay Area band formed in 2012 around singer songwriters Grahame Lesh and Elliott Peck with bassist Connor O’Sullivan, later rounding out the lineup with drummer and banjo player Nathan Graham as the group grew through its connection to Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael. Their fifth studio album, Diamonds in the Zodiac on the Americana Vibes label, extends the storytelling of There’s Always a Story and folds together bluegrass, country, soul, blues, funk, jazz, and gospel. Produced by Amy Helm and featuring contributions from Phil and Brian Lesh, the record was mixed by D. James Goodwin with album art by Micah Nelson, and it was recorded at Dave Schools’ Spacecamp with friends including Jason Crosby and TJ Kanczuzewski. Songs from this chapter include The Colors Here with Phil Lesh on bass and Amy Helm on harmonies, Jupiter with lyrics by Robert Hunter, Back to California with a choir of family and collaborators, the groove centered Round & Round, and the intimate In the Sunrise. Expect richly layered harmonies, thoughtful songwriting, and the roots infused musicianship that has defined Midnight North since Under the Lights.

A Talk In The Woods: Growing Gabbers (2-4 years old)

Designed for toddlers and young preschoolers ages 2 to 4, this gentle, play-based communication group is led by licensed speech-language pathologist Kristi Bianchini. Set in an outdoor play space, it blends nature, movement, and meaningful interaction to support emerging communication in a relaxed, engaging setting. Through play, sensory exploration, and farm-inspired activities, children are encouraged to expand vocabulary, begin combining words into phrases, strengthen back-and-forth interaction and social communication, follow directions while building understanding of language, and gain confidence expressing wants, needs, and ideas. Each session incorporates elements of the farm and natural surroundings, and caregivers learn simple, effective strategies to support communication at home. It is not a sit still class, and children are free to move, explore, and engage at their own pace with gentle guidance. This offering suits little ones who are late talkers or using limited words or phrases, who need support with expanding language or clarity of speech, or who benefit from modeled language in a play-based setting. Cost is $30 per child. Caregiver participation is required, and families will complete a brief intake form so the session can be thoughtfully tailored to each child’s communication needs.

Presented by Premier Concerts and Manic Presents, this all ages show highlights his spare, concise writing and direct storytelling. Mendez appears with Beauty Land, his debut full length for Dead Oceans, a collection shaped by fragile melodies, intimate vocals, and glimmering guitars. Much of the record was tracked straight to tape in his small home studio in Philadelphia, with Mendez handling most of the recording himself. It follows a self titled 2023 release that reached a wider audience after many years of writing and recording between Philadelphia and New York. Themes of sorrow, love, and addiction thread through these compact songs, delivered with pop sensibility and a lucid, dreamlike feel.

Awakening Ayni: an Aquarian heart opening ritual

Ayni [eye-nee] is a Quechua principle of sacred reciprocity with all living beings, the Earth, and the cosmos. This Aquarian heart opening ritual invites a soulful journey under a waning gibbous moon, gathering poolside and around a sacred fire to attune with the airy, humanitarian energy of Aquarius. The space opens by honoring the four directions and welcoming ancestral love and wisdom, moving between the realms of Spirit and the Middle World, Kay Pacha, the human plane. Cleansing with sacred smoke clears body and surroundings, then channels to Spirit open through a collective oracle reading and intention setting. A breath-led yoga flow, nourished by the element of air and supported by reiki, guides participants toward balance. Stillness follows as sound gently bathes the body and eases the nervous system. Heart awakening deepens with Mama Cacao, sipping her sweet medicine, and with trataka, fire gazing, to nourish intuition at the third eye. Drumbeats echo the pulse of the Earth as voices rise with mantras and medicine songs, giving space for playful expression and the inner child. The circle concludes with shared reflections, closing the four directions, and returning to Kay Pacha. Suitable for beginners through advanced yogis. Self care investment is $60, with prepayment available via Eventbrite or Venmo at @GoodVibesYogaStudio.

2026 Northern Exposure Individual Softball Recruiting Camp

Softball athletes gather at Dunn Sports Complex for an individual recruiting camp built around verified metrics and direct exposure to college coaches. Every participant completes athletic testing that captures sprint times, throwing velocity, and strength results, and all players have the chance to be seen by college programs. Rather than relying on what happens in a game, the combine format creates structured fielding opportunities so coaches can evaluate defensive plays. Portions of the showcase are filmed and compiled into a virtual presentation that is shared with more than 2,000 college softball coaches. Players also have the option to purchase a personalized mini skills video from Fastpitch Online Showcase LLC. The schedule groups athletes by position, with dedicated sessions for pitchers, catchers, infielders, and outfielders, and participants may choose multiple sessions for an additional fee to highlight a wider range of abilities. If weather becomes an issue, activities can move indoors. Enrollment is intentionally limited to keep groups small and maximize visibility. Registration is $145 for one position or $230 for two positions.

Cacao, Mantra & Sacred Truth — A Heart Opening Afternoon

Lauren Eastwood of LB Healing and Brian Lottman of Stir The Heart guide an intimate, heart-opening ceremony that weaves ceremonial cacao, sacred mantra with live harmonium, guided meditation, and timeless spiritual teachings. The gathering begins with a cacao circle led by Lauren that honors the divine feminine, clarifies intention, and gently prepares participants to receive. Brian then leads Satsang, a circle devoted to truth, offering mantras with harmonium for whole-being healing, meditations held in a deeply peaceful presence, and teachings rooted in the Vedic tradition. His path was sparked by a breathwork session in 2007, and in 2012 his teacher encouraged him to take ancient wisdom on the road, which led him to share across the US, Canada, and Mexico. Lauren is the founder of LB Healing, a Durham CT based practice offering Reiki, sound healing, ceremonial cacao, and sacred ceremony that supports those who are burnt out, overwhelmed, or quietly searching. Brian founded Stir The Heart and serves as an inspirational speaker, energy healer, meditation teacher, and yoga instructor dedicated to helping people recognize their Essential Nature through wisdom, mantra, and the power of presence. Together they offer a rare blend of plant medicine and tradition, holding a safe, intimate space to open, receive, and be transformed. No experience is required. Bring a journal, a yoga mat, a blanket if desired, and an open heart. The investment is $40.

Meditation & Talk Sunday Meeting

A kind, welcoming space centered on mindfulness, compassion, and everyday Buddhist wisdom invites both newcomers and longtime practitioners to settle, breathe, and reconnect with what matters. Each meeting blends a quiet period of seated mindfulness, a gentle voice-based practice to open the heart and steady attention, and a concise teaching on practice and daily life from Dharma Teacher G.R. Lewis, who brings more than 35 years of meditation experience. Themes shift from week to week, touching on compassion, resilience, and the inner freedom that can be discovered in ordinary moments. There is also time for questions, shared insights, and conversation about weaving mindfulness and compassion into daily routines, which supports deeper understanding and community connection. Participation is designed to be practical and universal, and there is no requirement to identify as Buddhist. Free street parking is available on Washington Terrace, with additional parking on Mt. Vernon Street next to the center. To maintain a respectful atmosphere, please use kind speech, be courteous, and refrain from discussing current politics or displaying political or offensive symbols or imagery. 36th Annual Alumni Golf Tournament

Golfers, sponsors, and community members come together for the 36th annual alumni tournament, a day on the course that raises essential support for Boys & Girls Club of Meriden. Contributions help sustain programs that reach more than 1,200 young people in Central Connecticut, including after-school enrichment, a preschool that operates throughout the year, sports and recreation leagues, and two summer camps. The Club welcomes all children regardless of ability to pay, and more than 80 percent receive assistance with fees. Participation is associated with stronger academic results, improved social and emotional health, and fewer risky behaviors. Regular attendees report higher community service involvement, greater confidence in school, and clearer career goals, with 97 percent of teens expecting to graduate and 76 percent of low-income members ages 12 to 18 earning mostly As and Bs compared with 67 percent of their peers nationwide. The tournament day begins with check-in and a hot breakfast, followed by instructions and cart loading before a shotgun start. After play, the gathering continues at Taino Smokehouse Prime with a casual happy hour as groups finish, then a reception lunch featuring food and drinks, raffles, auctions, and time to connect.
