Mosaic & Merlot: A Hands-On Tile Workshop

A creative, hands-on workshop in the PIER 22 Ballroom features guided mosaic making with Connie of Sun & Fun Mosaics. Participants design and craft a mosaic tile using colorful glass and professional tools, supported by step-by-step instruction suitable for all skill levels. Choose from four designs... Turtle, Dolphin, Seahorse, or Snooty the Manatee, a Bradenton favorite once nicknamed Baby Snoots and remembered for his years at the South Florida Museum on the pier. Each ticket includes one mosaic project in the selected design, all materials and tools including tile nippers, a disposable workstation for easy cleanup, guided instruction, a take-home grout kit with directions to finish the piece after the adhesive cures, a glass of wine on arrival, and a commemorative PIER 22 50th Anniversary sticker. Because the class uses glass tiles and tools, careful handling is important. The adhesive requires 24 hours to set, and grouting is completed at home using the included kit. Seating is arranged at a shared classroom style table, and attendance is limited to 40 guests. Tickets are $67 plus tax. Reservations are nonrefundable because materials are ordered in advance, and the reservation name can be transferred to another guest if needed. Attendees also receive 10 percent off dinner at the restaurant after the workshop. Those planning to sit with another party can note this on the reservation.

Set out on a relaxed, roughly 3-mile hike through Robinson Preserve in Bradenton, moving through mangrove stands, salt marshes, and other coastal habitats. A curated showcase of 25 unique vehicles will be featured in Rossi Park on the Bradenton riverfront, placing selected owners and their custom cars, trucks, and bikes at the center of the riverfront festivities. Visitors can walk to food and merchandise vendors, enjoy waterfront live bands, and watch after-dark fireworks nearby. Participation is free for those who are chosen, and each exhibitor receives a keepsake plaque. Space in the park is reserved only for the invited vehicles, and the lot will be secured by event staff and local police. Organizers will choose a diverse mix of local builds, and approved participants will receive credentials for entry to the secured lot. For safety and crowd management, access is limited to a designated arrival window, and once a vehicle exits there is no re-entry. Submitting a vehicle for consideration does not guarantee a spot.

The Sarasota Offshore Shootout returns, hosted by Sara Bay Marina with Folds of Honor and presenting sponsor Abyss Battery. The weigh-in celebration showcases big catches coming to the scales alongside food trucks, vendor booths, music, live weigh-in announcements, and plenty of raffle prizes. Teams compete for thousands of dollars in cash and serious bragging rights. Competition is organized into two divisions based on boat length. The 34+ Division is for boats 34 feet and over with a $750 entry fee and payouts for first, second, and third place. The 33- Division is for boats 33 feet and under with a $500 entry fee and payouts for first, second, and third place. Boats 33 feet and under may choose to enter the 34+ Division by registering in that division, participating in the shotgun start, and paying the $750 fee. Snow greets runners and walkers at the start and finish, an aid station offers an icy cool-down zone, and the day features a guided warmup with Coach Ray from Prosper Bradenton plus a recovery area with ice baths and a yoga cooldown.
