Weekday Pottery Class
Join a weekday pottery class for ages 16 and up, taught by artist Ramiro Santillan. You will learn a variety of clay techniques, including hand-building, wheel-throwing, and pinch pot and coil methods using clay slabs. The class also covers glazing, basic ceramic vocabulary, and an overview of firing techniques. Supplies and equipment are provided, and the session meets for four consecutive weeks on the selected day and time.
Turner Center Hudson Pottery Studio6th Annual U-Nite Dinner
Now in its sixth year, this dinner is organized by Greater Valdosta United Way and The Haven and takes place at the Rainwater Conference Center. The program features Dale Murphy, who at the time became the youngest player in Major League Baseball history to earn back-to-back MVP awards. His accolades include two National League Player of the Year honors, seven All-Star selections, five Gold Gloves, and four Silver Sluggers, and he is recognized nationwide as a motivational speaker. Join an intensive advanced oil painting class focused on traditional techniques. Over the session window, you’ll work on the processes of oil painting and build on your skills in this classic medium. The class is for ages 18 and up, and it’s led by Fay Hyatt.
Annette Howell Turner Center for the ArtsSummer Floral Design Workshop SOLD OUT
Explore floral design at a hands-on workshop at Pebble Hill Plantation. Guided by horticulturist and floral designer Laura Strickland, participants create a custom arrangement with summer flowers and fresh greenery to brighten any space. All materials are provided, but please bring pruning shears. The ticket fee is $85 and is nonrefundable. This experience can also be a thoughtful Mother's Day gift.
