Father's Day "You're a Star" Walk
Celebrate fathers, father figures, and everyday heroes with a community walk at Mason Park’s Larson Lake. Participants can honor someone special by purchasing a wooden star, taking it home to decorate with colors and designs that reflect their personality and impact. Completed stars are returned before the walk and will be displayed at the Fishing Derby. After the event, families collect their stars and are welcome to let them shine in their yards or gardens. Star pick up and drop off are coordinated through Haish Gym, with designated periods for picking up blank stars, returning decorated stars, and later retrieving them. The DeKalb Park District cannot assume responsibility for stars that are lost or damaged.

Juneteenth Fest is a community celebration centered on unity, history, freedom, and opportunity. It blends culture, business, music, and food into an uplifting experience for all ages. Attendees can enjoy live entertainment and performances, a variety of food trucks and local vendors, cultural showcases and community exhibits, opportunities for business networking, family friendly games and activities, and programs that encourage engagement and learning. Organizers are welcoming vendors, sponsors, food trucks, performers, and community partners. Admission is free for all.
Downtown DeKalb20th Annual Golf Fore the Kids Scholarship Golf Outing
Step onto the course for a 20th annual scholarship golf outing that supports a mission of building stronger, healthier families through accessible recreation. All proceeds benefit that cause, and there are ways to take part by playing, sponsoring, or donating. Register in advance to save 40 dollars. Pricing is 360 dollars for a preregistered foursome or 400 dollars on the day, 100 dollars for individual golfers, and 30 dollars for a dinner-only ticket. Registration includes 18 holes with a cart, lunch, drink tickets, and dinner. The first 100 golfers receive a swag bag and a hat, and the event features raffles, golden ticket blind bogey prizes, and an awards ceremony.
