    Arkansauce

    WAVE, 650 E 2nd St N, Wichita · verified Oct 9
    See details

Arkansauce brings a forward-leaning newgrass sound shaped by the Ozarks to Wichita, powered by a progressive string quartet of Tom Andersen on bass, guitarist Zac Archuleta, mandolinist Ethan Bush, and banjoist Adams Collins. Expect nimble improvisation, intertwining melodies and rhythms, and a deep low end, with all four members trading lead and harmony vocals and contributing lyrics filled with smart turns of phrase and hooks that land. The band’s live energy centers on high-octane picking and an upbeat spirit that lifts the room. Rooted in Arkansas and seasoned by constant travel, the group draws inspiration from life on the road and an ongoing urge to create, inspire, and reshape its corner of the bluegrass world, a passion sparked early by family introductions to live music. Their fifth release, Ok to Wonder, features 11 original songs that move from celebratory to reflective. The record has earned praise across bluegrass and Americana media, with features and premieres from outlets such as The Bluegrass Situation and Glide Magazine. Tracks have appeared on Spotify editorial playlists like Indie Bluegrass and Fast Grass and have been heard on SiriusXM’s Bluegrass Junction, and the band has shared performances and conversation about the album with media in their home state. Arkansauce has toured widely across the United States and in Europe, supported Yonder Mountain String Band on the road, played major festival stages alongside Greensky Bluegrass, Railroad Earth, The Del McCoury Band, Billy Strings, Leftover Salmon, Tauk, and The Wood Brothers, and welcomed a guest appearance from Sam Bush. A full bar will be available during the show. Seating is limited and first come, first served. All ages are welcome unless noted otherwise. Support acts may change. All sales are final except in the event of a cancellation or postponement.
