Restorative Yoga for Self Care: A Somatic Journey Inward with Heidi Parent

Led by Heidi Parent, this restorative self care class weaves together somatic movement, Yin yoga, and myofascial release for a gentle, therapeutic reset. The pace is unhurried to help participants turn inward and listen to the body. Somatic explorations informed by Thomas Hanna's neuromuscular re-education encourage new movement patterns and help dissolve long held tension. Using therapy balls and simple self massage, targeted areas such as the feet, hips, and shoulders receive focused attention. The quiet stillness of Yin postures adds a contemplative element, supporting the release of physical and mental holding for a whole person experience of care. It suits those managing chronic tension or pain, movers interested in deepening mind body connection, practitioners seeking balance for more active training, students curious about meditative movement, and anyone building a sustainable self care routine. Benefits may include greater flexibility and joint ease, relief of tight tissue and adhesions, heightened body awareness and proprioception, a more regulated nervous system, and a sense of deep relaxation and stress relief. All levels are welcome, and no prior experience is needed.

The Ghouls and more

Neptune's Cape Cod hosts a live show featuring The Ghouls, Far Above The Ground, and Burp. The Ghouls, an alt rock and power pop band from Lowell, Massachusetts, draw inspiration from The Strokes, The Cure, and Weezer. Their milestones include winning Boston’s 2024 Rock and Roll Rumble, earning the Boston Music Award for Rock Artist of the Year in 2024, opening for multi-instrumentalist Luna Li, helping raise over $2,000 at the Evan Gershkovich Benefit Concert, and being featured twice in the Boston Globe. Far Above The Ground formed in 2004 with Jason Rowman on drums and Ryan Stark on vocals and guitar, later joined by James Bannon on bass and Mike Mazurkiewicz on lead guitar. Their throwback sound nods to The Replacements, Green Day, All, Descendents, Brand New, Lit, and Gin Blossoms. Their song Lonely appeared in the international trailer and Blu-ray release of Paramount Pictures’ Trainwreck, they were invited by ReverbNation cofounder Lou Plaia to play the final Vans Warped Tour, and they have shared stages with State Champs, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Senses Fail, Simple Plan, Soul Asylum, The Ataris, Samiam, and Moving Targets, earning praise from industry veterans. Burp brings indie punk and rock from Lowell with high-energy performances, a blend of 90s pop punk and 2010s emo revival, and self-deprecating humor, often calling themselves the Beatles of Lowell.

Andrea Terrio: From Standards to Soul

Andrea Terrio brings a lifetime of influences to the stage, drawing on the confessional warmth of Carole King, the harmonies of Crosby, Stills & Nash, the power of Chaka Khan, and the edge of Linda Ronstadt. This Cape Cod performance unfolds in two distinct sets that travel from jazz standards to rock, rhythm, and soul. The first set celebrates the American Songbook with Paul McWilliams on piano, Scott Lariviere on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums, a pillar of the local jazz community whose feel and finesse give these classics the lift they deserve. The second set shifts the energy as Mike Byrne takes up the guitar, with Lariviere and Weisman locking in the groove while Terrio channels the spirit of her long-running band Andrea The Judge & The Sinner, the classic rock outfit that kept crowds dancing for years and built a loyal following. Listeners can expect grit and groove, along with the soulful intensity that drew comparisons to Fleetwood Mac and Chrissie Hynde on her 1996 release, 11:11. Whether she is caressing a ballad or driving a rock anthem, her singing is purposeful and fully connected, and her inviting stage presence brings the audience into the heart of the music. The night offers two sets and two musical worlds, all unified by one unmistakable voice. Tickets are $35, or $30 for members.

Whispers of the Wreck

Once a year the museum dims the lights for an after-hours experience centered on the Whydah Gally, the pirate ship swallowed by a nor’easter more than three centuries ago. Black Sam Bellamy and most of his crew were lost in that storm. On the eve of the anniversary, the museum opens after dark for this rarely offered visit. Storytellers guide visitors through shadowed galleries, sharing folktales, legends, and long-told myths that have surrounded the wreck for over 300 years. These accounts are told in the very museum where the recovered treasure is displayed, and some say the spirits of the crew can still be felt there. Tickets are $20, capacity is limited, and the program is for ages 16 and up. To reserve a time slot, call (508) 534-9571.

Dinner & A Movie: Time and Water

The Woods Hole Film Festival’s Dinner & A Movie series presents Time and Water, a documentary from WHFF alum Sara Dosa, director of Fire of Love. The film follows Icelandic writer Andri Snær Magnason as he faces the loss of Okjökull, the first glacier pronounced gone because of climate change. Asked to craft its eulogy, he reflects on how ice holds the record of deep time and connects that idea to family memory, sharing his grandparents’ stories so they are not forgotten. With a tapestry of photographs, home movies, myths, songs, and folk tales, this work offers both a lament for what has vanished and a cinematic journey to preserve what remains. This screening is part of the Winter/Spring Film Series, a twice-monthly showcase of independent films that includes past festival selections along with titles curated specifically for the program. Screenings take place at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s Redfield Auditorium. Before the film, ticket holders may receive a discount on the meal portion of dinner at the Captain Kidd Restaurant and the Quahog Republic Leeside Pub. Contact the restaurants for details and reservations. Tickets are $18, WHFF members $12, and students or military $10, with day-of-show tickets $20 when available. Buying in advance is recommended, as many screenings sell out. The series is supported in part by Liam Maguire's Irish Pub, Autocamp, Seasalt Cornwall, the Martha’s Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation, and Cape Cod 5.

Photographer and physician Sean Palfrey presents a new series of photography books titled Home, Wander, Imagine, Dance, and Promise. The program opens with an introduction to his work, travels, and publications, then moves into a guided conversation where attendees reflect on selected photographs as he shares images and the short writings he pairs with them. Palfrey has been creating and exhibiting color photographs in Massachusetts and across the United States for 45 years. Alongside his artistic practice, he is a pediatrician, professor of medicine and public health, and dean, and he has supported health services in other countries following natural disasters. Early in his career he explored single and multiple exposures, first with a medium format Pentax 6x7 and later with Nikon digital cameras, and his color multiple exposures are composed entirely in camera rather than on a computer. He is publishing a six-volume collection that combines photographs with brief musings, with five volumes already available in bookstores and on Amazon.

The Important Role of Nobska Light in “A Home in Woods Hole: Life and History on Eel Pond”

At Falmouth Museums on the Green, an author program explores how Nobska Light figures into Elizabeth Heslop Sheehy’s account of a Millfield Street home and its ties to Eel Pond. Walter’s older and younger brothers, along with his youngest sister, Florence, also feature in the narrative, with episodes that include a murder trial, time on the water, and a scandal involving marital betrayal. The talk connects the Millfield Street residence with the restored Keeper’s House in Woods Hole. Yarmouth Coastal Resiliency Fair & Parker’s River Landing Grand Opening

The Town of Yarmouth presents a Coastal Resiliency Fair alongside the grand opening of Parker’s River Landing, the culmination of a multi-year effort. Once a drive-in theater, the site is now a nature-focused public destination with a raised boardwalk, habitat restoration, and a kayak launch built to complement local coastal conditions. Guests can also wander new walking paths and a playground and enjoy views from the launch. Parking is available at Seagull Beach with shuttle service to the venue. Admission is free. American Vanity + Major Moment | Live at Neptunes Cape Cod

Neptune’s Cape Cod hosts a live show featuring American Vanity with Major Moment opening. American Vanity channels contemporary rock into a clear look at self-image and identity, led by vocalists Virginia Franks on bass and Luke Hoffman on guitar, with Luke Vanchure on lead guitar and Carter Dennis on drums. Their style taps alt rock with hints of punk and art rock, presenting a modern sound that considers the space between performance and self-awareness. The musicians previously toured the country as Burn the Jukebox and have worked with partners like Schecter, Ernie Ball, SJC Drums, and Vans. They are now gearing up for a debut full-length produced by Grammy-nominated Matt Squire, known for collaborations with Panic! at the Disco, All Time Low, and Ariana Grande, pointing to tighter writing, bigger hooks, and raw energy. Major Moment sets the night in motion with a cinematic pop metal mix that blends heavy guitar work, modern production, and melody, using both male and female clean and extreme vocals. Drawing on personal stories, the band has issued more than a dozen tracks with accompanying videos and reaches roughly 80,000 monthly Spotify listeners with over 10 million streams to date. Their 2025 album The Pain That Makes Us Grow includes singles Toxic, Overcome, Victim, Lunacy, and Promises, which were placed in regular rotation on SiriusXM Octane. Cape Symphony Presents: Joe Marchio [Organ Concert]

Cape Symphony’s Assistant Conductor, Joe Marchio, performs on the Casavant Frères pipe organ at First Congregational Church of Chatham, shifting from the podium to the console for a program that showcases the instrument’s range and color. The lineup features J. S. Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and Charles Ives’s Variations on America. Special guest Sarah Marchio joins on bagpipes for Highland Cathedral, with one additional selection to be announced. Built in 1972 by the Casavant Frères Organ Company of Quebec, the church’s organ was designed to support congregational and choral singing and to serve as a recital instrument for visiting artists. It offers 21 carefully chosen stops suited to German Baroque and French Romantic repertoire. A 2007 update added an electrified console and expanded couplers, increasing flexibility for English choral accompaniment and Romantic-era works. The instrument remains a valued centerpiece, continuing a tradition that reaches back to the congregation’s earliest melodeon. A portion of each ticket supports the Cape Symphony Orchestra, Chatham Chorale, and First Congregational Church of Chatham. Seating is limited, and child and student discounts are available.

Anthony Gomes | Live at Neptune's Cape Cod

Neptune’s Cape Cod hosts a high-energy blues rock performance from Anthony Gomes, whose soulful vocals and blazing guitar work fuse classic roots with a modern edge. The Toronto-born singer, guitarist, songwriter, and producer delivers fiery fretwork and big-stage intensity, creating a sound that is equally raw and dynamic. Gomes has topped the Billboard Blues chart, earned respect from B.B. King, amassed tens of millions of streams, and performed for audiences around the world. Influenced early on by Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Eddie Van Halen, he picked up the guitar at 14. A standout jam led to an introduction to B.B. King and an opening slot on a run of shows in 2005. He has since shared stages with Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Joe Bonamassa, Heart, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and more, with notable attendees including Morgan Freeman, John Goodman, Vince Vaughn, and Eric Clapton. High Voltage Blues hit number one on iTunes’ blues chart and Amazon Music’s new release blues list, debuted at number one on the Billboard Blues chart, and stayed on that chart for 58 consecutive weeks, earning a place on Billboard’s year-end Top 15 blues albums lists for 2023 and 2024. In 2024 Total Guitar named him among the 100 greatest blues guitarists, and in 2019 Guitar World readers ranked him among the 30 best blues guitarists working today, citing a high-octane approach that thrives between blues and rock. His latest release, Praise the Loud, features 12 new studio tracks that stretch into heavier territory while deepening the music’s soulful blues core. Imagine the heart of vintage blues colliding with hard-rock punch, delivered with road-tested power.

The story follows Julian Sklar, a once-celebrated figure from the 1960s London art scene who has withdrawn into solitude. His estranged children, played by James Corden and Jessica Gunning, recruit Lori, a young painter with a history of forgery portrayed by Michaela Coel, to pose as an assistant and infiltrate his home studio. Their aim is to reach a storied cache of unfinished canvases and leverage them in a bid for inheritance. The cast also features Ferdy Roberts. Part of the Winter and Spring Film Series, Dinner & A Movie offers twice-monthly, in-person screenings of independent films, including past festival selections and titles curated specifically for this program. The film will screen at Redfield Auditorium. Before the show, ticket holders may be eligible for a discount on dinner at the Captain Kidd Restaurant and the Quahog Republic Leeside Pub; contact the restaurants for details and reservations. Tickets are $18, $12 for WHFF members, and $10 for students and military, with day-of-show tickets $20 when available. Buying in advance is encouraged, and tickets are also sold at the door if not sold out.

“The Three Little Pigs” Puppet show presented by Dream Tale Puppets at the OVL!

Dream Tale Puppets presents a 25-minute retelling of the well known tale at OVL, designed for small audiences and often a favorite at family parties. Three piglets build three very different houses and outsmart a mischievous wolf, with conversations with their mother, house building, and lively back and forth playing out on and around a cloth draped tabletop. The production uses four rod puppets for the pigs, a hand puppet for the wolf, and an assortment of home building materials. Two artists bring the story to life, one handling narration and character voices and the other animating the puppets. Performers include puppeteer Jacek Zuzanski with either Margaret Moody, Robert Bock, or Laura Opie. After the performance, children usually have a chance to meet the performers, get a closer look at the puppets and props, ask questions, and play.

This concert spotlights two grand pianos and two accomplished pianists in a rare side-by-side setting. Fred Boyle and Chris Grasso share the stage at twin grands, answering each other in real time as they trade phrases, build harmonies, and let improvisation steer the conversation. Cooper Alan

Cooper Alan brings showman flair and the hustle of a modern independent artist to Cape Cod Melody Tent, delivering country songs built on bold ideas and candid storytelling. The North Carolina native has built a massive audience on his own, surpassing 18 million followers and 750 million streams through heartfelt narratives, clever humor, and inventive genre blends. His debut full-length, Winston-Salem, has been released and highlights many sides of his life and artistry, from thoughtful songwriter and party starter to proud Southerner, husband, and soon-to-be father. The album unfolds in two parts, with Winston leaning inward and Salem turning up the energy with rowdy, boundary-pushing anthems, following the 2023 concept EP Take Forever that traces his real-life relationship and wedding. After early stints in cover bands and Nashville honky-tonks, he broke through via viral videos and a direct connection with fans. His songs span meditations on mental health to unapologetic drinking anthems, blending country with rock, pop, and hip hop and anchored by big hooks. On stage he has already sold more than 150,000 tickets around the world, including a sold-out 2024 headline tour in Australia. Accolades include Pandora Ten Artist To Watch and the SiriusXM + Pandora 2024 Future Five, and he reached No. 1 on SiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown with the breakout single Take Forever. moe. and Umphrey’s McGee

At Cape Cod Melody Tent, moe. and Umphrey’s McGee share the stage for an evening that brings together two long-running, genre-blending bands. Umphrey’s McGee, founded in Chicago and performing for nearly 28 years, blends progressive touches with song-centered writing and can pivot to metal-inspired riffs in the middle of a set. Their track record includes close to 3,000 shows and more than 300 million streams, a notable set at the first Bonnaroo where they led CD sales, and a pioneering effort to archive every concert starting in 2005 through their own service, now hosted on Nugs.net alongside artists like Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen. moe. formed 35 years ago among friends from the University of Buffalo, evolving from playful, genre-bending sessions into a six-piece known for relentless touring, DIY drive, hook-filled songwriting, and a highly engaged Famoe.ly community. They average about 100 shows each year and continue to release new music, including Circle of Giants on ATO. That album was nearly finished when bassist and vocalist Rob Derhak’s 25-year-old son passed away, and it channels the band’s grief into songs marked by resilience, grace, and humor. With keyboardist Nate Wilson now part of the full-time lineup, the group of Rob Derhak, Al Schnier, Chuck Garvey, Vinnie Amico, Jim Loughlin, and Nate Wilson carries the brotherhood forward.

Stories in Swing: Shawnn Monteiro & Cape Cod Jazz Quartet

Shawnn Monteiro brings a lifetime in jazz to the stage. Discovered in the early 1970s by Afro-Cuban jazz pioneer Mongo Santamaria while singing at a San Jose club, she toured extensively with his band before stepping out as a solo artist grounded in the tradition she grew up with. Her father, bassist Jimmy Woode of the Duke Ellington orchestra, introduced her to Europe’s jazz circles, and she has continued to foster those ties through tours and by leading master vocal classes in Rome and Genoa starting in 1995. Listeners have likened her sound to Carmen McRae for its conversational ease and confident phrasing, yet her voice remains distinctly her own. With seven albums and appearances spanning from Rhode Island to Siberia, she is recognized as a skilled interpreter of jazz standards and a dedicated educator. In 2024 she was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame. She appears with the Cape Cod Jazz Quartet, featuring Steve Ahern on trumpet and flute, Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums. Together they shape an intimate, swinging exchange that arises when seasoned musicians share a stage. Tickets are $35, or $30 for members.

SHADOWS: A “Golden Era of Nightclubs” Cabaret with Lisa Kantor

Inspired by the golden age of nightclubs, Shadows highlights the vocalists who brought 1940s clubs, speakeasies, and cabarets to life. Singer Lisa Kantor revisits the era with music tied to Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, George and Ira Gershwin, Peggy Lee, and others, shaping an intimate journey where the songs carry the stories and the room hums with energy. Fresh off receiving the Mike Renzi Award in Provincetown and strong notices in both Boston and New York City, she brings this acclaimed program to the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. The performance lasts about 75 minutes. The creative team features director Lina Koutrakos, music director Tom LaMark, and bassist Dave Landoni. Cabaret Scenes critics have praised Kantor’s ease with the Great American Songbook and the cohesive design of the show. Over the past two decades she has crafted and performed solo cabarets across Boston, the Berkshires, Provincetown, and New York, including a debut of Shadows at Don’t Tell Mama, and she has been recording an upcoming album in New York.
