Potomac Paddlesports Kayak SchoolDiversify Whitewater & Calleva River Day!
Calleva teams up with Diversify Whitewater, a nonprofit dedicated to sharing the joy of paddlesports with Black, Indigenous, and other people of color and their allies, for a celebratory river day at Riley's Lock in Poolesville, Maryland. With rafts and guides provided by Calleva, participants will paddle the Class II Seneca Breaks stretch of the Potomac River. Kayakers with Class II experience can bring their own boat or contact the River School about borrowing one. After time on the water, a shuttle and a picnic style lunch are included. Participation is free, no prior paddling experience is required, and beginners and first timers are welcome. Registration is required. The day is supported by Diversify Whitewater, a nonprofit that promotes inclusion and belonging in paddlesports, and those who wish may support the organization through its fiscal sponsor, American Whitewater. To ensure safety and comfort, the registration form includes a few personal questions for proper outfitting, and registrants will receive an email closer to the event with suggested items to bring.
