Hagerstown City Park becomes an outdoor studio for a plein air celebration of creativity, where artists bring their own supplies and produce original works inspired by nature. The theme is "History is in Our Nature." The event is presented by Hagerstown Parks & Recreation Division, Valley Art Association of the Mansion House Art Center, the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, and the Washington County Arts Council. Participation is offered at three levels: a free Basic Level that includes an event waiver, placement on the artist roster, and updates; an Exhibition Level with a $10 fee that secures display of the artwork at either Valley Art Association or Washington County Arts Council; and a Juried Competition Level with a $20 fee to enter a competition hosted by the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. Those expecting to get soaked should bring a towel and a change of clothes, and guests are welcome to share a side dish or dessert. The gathering also supports Hanna’s Desk Drawer Pantry, which helps students at E. Culture & Cocktails features motorsports photographer Bill Stoler with a retrospective on the 1955 Fairchild National Sports Car Races, held on the runways of Hagerstown Municipal Airport. Drawing on interviews and materials gathered through his connections in the vintage racing community, Stoler shares photographs, period race reports, and stories, and he recently contributed to a 70th anniversary commemoration at the Hagerstown Aviation Museum. The program includes images from the 1955 competition along with views of the Fairchild Aircraft Company. In 1955 the Fairchild races were the largest sports car event on the east coast, attracting about 15,000 spectators and more than 200 leading drivers. Hotels around Hagerstown filled to capacity, and local garages and dealerships stayed busy as mechanics tended to Ferraris, Jaguars, and Maseratis. Among the drivers was Phil Hill, who would go on to become the first American Formula One champion in 1961. Culture & Cocktails is supported by the James and Mary Schurz Foundation. Each ticket includes refreshments and one complimentary drink ticket, and the featured beverage is a classic cocktail from the 1950s. Tickets are available through the WCHS Offices or via Eventbrite.

The 4th Annual CASA of Western Maryland Golf Tournament returns to Black Rock Golf Course for a signature day on the links that fuels advocacy for children in foster care. This fundraiser supports the organization’s work to recruit, train, and equip volunteers who stand up for children in court so they can pursue the best possible outcomes. Last year’s event generated nearly $23,000 in support of this mission. Golfers receive greens fees and a cart, lunch, a player gift bag, and a golfer pack that includes one power ball, one throw, and two mulligans. Competitive play features cash awards for first, second, and third place, with men’s and women’s flights, plus additional recognition for men’s and women’s longest drive, closest to the pin, best team name, and even last place. Door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and more add to the fun. Entry is $500 for a team of four or $125 per individual player. Sponsorship opportunities are available for organizations and businesses. A Hole Sponsorship at $100 provides one tee box sign and recognition on Facebook. Beverage or Cart Sponsorship at $400 offers exclusive signage on all carts and Facebook recognition. Bronze at $750 includes one team, a tee box sign, and Facebook recognition. Silver at $1,000 adds acknowledgment during opening remarks, two tee box signs, and recognition on the CASA website and in the post event newsletter. Gold at $2,500 builds on Silver with two teams and the option to include a branded item in golfer gift bags. Platinum at $5,000 includes all Gold benefits along with a putting green sign and the opportunity to host a staffed booth or banner table at check in. CASA of Western Maryland is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that prepares volunteers to speak for abused and neglected children, providing unbiased, fact based information to the courts on behalf of children in the welfare system.

Families can explore aviation history inside the historic Fairchild Dome Hangar, with chances to step aboard museum aircraft and view the newly acquired A-10 Warthog among extensive displays. Weather allowing, an open cockpit flight experience in a WWII training aircraft is available for a $200 donation. The EAA Young Eagles will be on site offering free flights for youth ages 8 to 17, and all flights are dependent on weather conditions. Admission is by donation.

Paloma Devi’s voice puts a feminine devotional presence at the center as the ensemble’s meditative interplay nurtures a healing atmosphere. Aviation Adventure Day/EAA Young Eagles
Families can explore aviation at the museum inside the historic Fairchild Dome Hangar. Guests may step aboard select aircraft and browse extensive historical exhibits, including the newly added A-10 Warthog. If weather allows, open-cockpit rides in a WWII training aircraft are available for a $200 donation. EAA Young Eagles will be on site offering free flights for youth ages 8 to 17. All flights are dependent on weather conditions.

Hagerstown Speedway hosts a boots and flannel country throwdown that blends live music, timber sport thrills and plenty of hands-on fun for all ages. The vibe is family friendly early, then turns into a lively party as the day goes on. The stage features Mister Grimm, Cody Lee Meece, 81 South and Thunderstruck - Americas AC/DC Tribute. The grounds fill with craft vendors, food options like Keep It Smokin BBQ, Stoner/Dogs and Tuckers Puckers, cold drinks and lots to explore. Most ticket options include tastings from local wineries, breweries and distilleries. Domestic beer is available in advance with an unlimited option or by the drink on site. Lumberjack shows deliver big action, and there is a kids camp after each show. Racing fans can catch Quarter Midget competition in the Dirty Boot Shoot Out. A Jeep Show and Parade circles the dirt track with decorated vehicles pausing for the National Anthem and the Colors, then moving to a display area for prizes. Seasonal fun continues with Trunk or Treat for the kids. The event benefits Hagerstown Quarter Midgets, and a 50/50 raffle will be available for advance online purchase with no need to be present to win.
