Created for women who feel caught in a cycle of aiming for perfection, slipping, feeling guilty, and repeatedly starting over, the experience is active rather than a traditional lecture. Maryland HQL (Basic Handgun Safety) - Waldorf, MD

At Citadel Training Solutions, LLC, this basic handgun safety course fulfills Maryland’s four hour training requirement for the Handgun Qualification License, which is needed to purchase or receive a handgun in the state. Designed with first time buyers in mind, the class goes beyond a lecture format with guided, hands on instruction. Participants study Maryland and federal firearm laws, learn about lawful use of force in the home, and review safe storage practices. After an overview of handgun parts and operation, attendees practice safety checks, loading and unloading, and clearing malfunctions with inert training aids on both revolvers and semi automatic pistols. Skills are then reinforced using a SIRT laser training pistol to build fundamentals such as grip, stance, and trigger control, followed by sessions on a shooting simulator that incorporates recoil enabled pistols. The curriculum includes a live fire operation and handling demonstration. The course concludes with step by step guidance through the HQL application and the Maryland 77R purchase or transfer process.

This in-person class teaches practical, life-preserving techniques for controlling blood loss when minutes matter. Participants learn how to quickly estimate blood loss and distinguish arterial from venous bleeding, then follow step-by-step methods to stop it using both commercially available tools and improvised options when a first aid kit is not on hand. Instruction covers when and how to apply a compression bandage or a tourniquet, how to pack a wound, how to recognize penetrating injuries to the torso and place a chest seal, and how to treat for shock. Hands-on practice with training aids reinforces each skill so attendees can act effectively during the critical window when a person may bleed out in 3 to 5 minutes and emergency responders may be several minutes away. The course runs approximately 1 to 2 hours and concludes with a skills assessment. Those who successfully complete all requirements receive a two-year certification in Save A Life: Control The Bleed.

CPR/AED Class - Waldorf, MD

Gain practical, hands-on lifesaving skills during an in-person CPR and AED course at Citadel Training Solutions, LLC in Waldorf, MD. Training uses practice equipment so you can learn the techniques and physical effort required to perform CPR for adults, children, and infants and to operate an automated external defibrillator correctly. Successful participants earn a two-year certification. The class is offered exclusively in person to focus on quality, skill-based instruction for breathing or cardiac emergencies and is not available online. Each participant receives a free keychain barrier device with a one-way valve, also known as a CPR face shield, and will use a training version during the session to be ready to deploy it when needed.

TrioFest Caribbean Wine, Beer & Food Festival brings a full day dedicated to community, culture, and flavor at the Charles County Fairgrounds. At the Shops at Waldorf Center, the seventh year of this Youth Shark Tank kidpreneur competition and family festival brings a full slate of activities. Budding young business owners will showcase their ideas in a market setting capped by a shark tank style pitch competition. August '26 Walk Charles County Walk at Laurel Springs Park

Enjoy a Charles County walk at Laurel Springs Park along the Laurel Springs trail. This circular route covers about 1.6 miles on a natural surface, is largely level, and stays mostly shaded by trees. The walk will move forward in most weather conditions, pausing only if thunder or lightning occur. Updates and additional details will be posted in the discussion tab, and marking going or interested will enable notifications. Feel free to share with friends and family.

Proceeds help purchase a NICU Jet Ventilator to provide crucial breathing support for vulnerable newborns, and also fund DIPG research at Children's National in memory of Finn Cusick.

Autos, trucks, and bikes gather at the Shops at Waldorf Center for a show featuring a DJ, 50-50 raffles, door prizes, and food trucks. Entry is $25 per vehicle and must be paid in cash. Advance registration is not available. Dash plates will be given to the first 100 entrants, with other attractions available as well.
