GR Salsa Summer Bash

GR Salsa Summer Bash with Alex Lazo features an energetic intermediate bachata footwork workshop at St. Adalbert's Aid Society - Fifth Street Hall. Led by Instructor Alex Lazo, dancers explore targeted drills that break down core bachata rhythms and feel, with an emphasis on timing, nuance, and flow to build confidence, refine musicality, and spark creativity on the dance floor. Participants can choose to showcase their progress in a casual, low-pressure presentation during the social. The GR Salsa Social follows with a bachata lesson taught by Alex Lazo, social dancing, and performances by Mi Tumbao G.R., Lazo Dance, and a bachata footwork showcase. The workshop fee includes entry to the social, and social-only admission is $15 at the door. Alex Lazo is a West Michigan dance educator and the founder of Lazo Dance, a community-focused Afro Latin dance organization that centers connection, cultural appreciation, and inclusive instruction across styles such as salsa, bachata, kizomba, kompa, and other Afro-diasporic dances, creating welcoming spaces for dancers of all backgrounds and experience levels.
