Bring a valid photo ID if you plan to order cocktails. The bar is card only, so have a credit or debit card ready. It can be cool on the lake, so consider packing a light jacket or layers, and keep your camera or phone handy for all the photo opportunities. For a smooth start, aim to arrive about 30 minutes before departure. For everyone’s comfort and safety, pets are not permitted on the boat.

Parties in the Park is now in its 42nd season in Muskegon, bringing an evening at Hackley Park in downtown Muskegon with live music at no charge, area food vendors, and a no-cost kids zone. Magic Bus will provide high-energy, crowd-pleasing songs suited to a summer night in the park. Hosted by AgeWell Services of West Michigan, the event benefits initiatives that help older adults stay healthy and independent. For more than four decades, this long-running tradition has united the community through music, camaraderie, and support for local nonprofits.

Tuition is $30 per person, with a $10 minimum deposit required at registration. Online sign up is needed ahead of your chosen date, and payment can be made at the workshop. If no one registers, the class will be canceled and an update will be posted on the Facebook event page. LOUDERNOW, a Midwest pop punk and emo tribute band, performs live on the sand with a setlist that spans more than 50 artists and a spirit that calls back to the days of skinny jeans, studded belts, eyeliner and loud singalongs. The set includes covers of staples like Taking Back Sunday and My Chemical Romance, along with surprises inspired by the Myspace and Warped Tour era. Admission is free. This is an outdoor, on-the-beach show, so plan accordingly. The theme embraces an early 2000s throwback, from all black outfits and teased hair to band tees, seat belt style belts and stacks of bracelets.

The Sound Medicine Collective, created by Adrienne White and Luke Andresen, operates the Collective Wellness Center in Benton Harbor, MI, and offers sound journeys at their studio as well as at festivals and sacred spaces around the country. Their instruments are selected with intention to encourage release, deep relaxation, and restoration. Both facilitators are trained in trauma-informed practices, and Luke is a veteran who has recovered from PTSD.

The program is presented in collaboration with a newly formed maritime alliance dedicated to preserving and sharing Muskegon’s seafaring stories. Admission is free and suitable for all ages.

Celebrate the longest day of the year with a solstice-themed gathering at Cafe Tamaki that blends craft, food, and ritual. The experience begins with making flower crowns as part of the festivities. This live music performance features Kyle Brown, a West Michigan multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. He launched the band Bigfoot Buffalo in 2014 and spent the next several years recording and performing with that project through 2019 before taking time away for travel and reflection. He returned with fresh material and new collaborations, and his album The Human Condition was slated for release in spring 2022, with Kyle handling most of the instruments, including guitar, drums, bass, mandolin, and vocals. The recording includes guest appearances by Dutcher Snedeker on keys, Mark Lavengood on dobro, Colin McCorkle on Hammond organ, and Michael Prokopchuk on violin. Onstage he appears either solo or with his group, The Human Condition, which features a rotating lineup of West Michigan musicians.

Native aquatic plants provide vital food and shelter for birds, fish, pollinators, and aquatic insects while helping keep ecosystems clean and resilient. Participants should be high school age or older and comfortable working in or near the water. Recommended items include waders, hip boots, rain boots, or muck boots, clothes that can get wet or muddy, sun protection, and water bottles. Planting tools and gloves will be provided by the Muskegon Conservation District and Muskegon County Parks. Volunteers are asked to sign up online through United Way under Muskegon Area Parks & Greenways Coalition so hours can be tracked for grant reporting. Support for this effort is made possible by the Consumers Energy Foundation through its Planet Award grant.

The showcase is open to all vehicle makes and models and features music by DJ DBL G, on-site vendors, a bounce house, food, prizes, and custom awards. Recognition includes People’s Choice, Top 15, Farthest Traveled, and Oldest Car, plus a Best in Show honor. Registration is free, and donations are accepted, with a portion of proceeds supporting Kids Belong. New items are also being collected for Kids Belong, including socks, underwear, and pajamas in all kids sizes, as well as diapers in any size. Only new items are accepted. Families can expect a friendly, community focused experience.
