The 2026 Champions Tour makes a midseason stop at Gull Lake for its annual PRO/AM, part of the season presented by Skeeter Boats. Professional anglers are eligible to enter for a $500 fee through the tour’s website, and each pro will be paired at random with an AM boat official to compete as a team. The goal is to record the team’s top eight fish in the Reel LiveWell app for official scoring. Past visits to Gull Lake have often been decided in the final moments, and similar excitement is anticipated. The day begins with blast off, continues until lines out, and wraps up with an awards ceremony. Live updates will be available through the Reel LiveWell app and on social media from Baxter, Minnesota, and event sponsors will be on site.

50/50 Split the pot night @ The Races

North Central Speedway hosts a split-the-pot 50/50 fundraiser alongside an evening of racing and community spirit. Half of the proceeds go to the winning ticket holder, and half support families living with ALS. During intermission, drivers bring their cars onto the track for close-up visits, photos, and autographs, giving fans a chance to meet the people behind the wheel and get a better look at the machines they cheer for. Raffle tickets are available until intermission, the winning number is announced at intermission, and the winner must be present to claim the prize.

Yoga in the Park with Monroe Yoga

Experience an outdoor yoga session at Gregory Park with Monroe Yoga. This one hour class focuses on calming the mind, connecting breath with movement, and building strength, balance, and flexibility. All levels are welcome, including beginners, seasoned practitioners, and prenatal students. Children may take part when accompanied by an adult, and the same rate applies to each participant. Please bring your own yoga mat, blanket, or towel, as props will not be available. The class takes place in a grassy area toward the back of the park. The cost is $15 per student. Advance sign-up is encouraged through the Monroe Yoga Facebook event, by private message, or by submitting payment via Venmo or PayPal, and cash is accepted on the day of class. An exhibition honoring Evelyn Matthies highlights the lasting spirit and artistic legacy of a beloved Brainerd Lakes Area creator, teacher, and community builder whose guidance influenced generations of artists, students, and neighbors. Remembered for her warmth, quick wit, and conviction that art is for everyone, she embraced creativity as a shared human experience. After arriving in Brainerd with her husband Bill in 1959, she moved from elementary education into the arts and became a pillar of Central Lakes College, leading the art department for more than thirty years. She also helped establish The Crossing Arts and served as its president, shaping the region’s cultural landscape with energetic leadership. Working in many mediums, she found her deepest connection with watercolor, drawn to its freedom, movement, and happy surprises. The airy, playful character of her compositions reflects the same curiosity and joy she brought to teaching and to life. True to the kitchen‑table message she lived by, people do not need to fully understand or even prefer every work to value the experience of seeing it. This show invites visitors to explore with that spirit in mind. In keeping with her belief that art should be within reach, many pieces are offered at accessible prices, welcoming both seasoned collectors and first‑time buyers. A reception will celebrate her life, legacy, and the community she helped nurture.

The second day centers on an obstacle course handled in hand, with opportunities to ride or ground drive when suitable, and alternatives available if riding or ground driving is not an option. The YMCA hosts the 19th annual kids triathlon at Whipple Beach in Baxter, welcoming boys and girls ages 5 to 14. Registration opens soon and is available to both Y members and the broader community, with participation capped at 350. Early bird registration is $55, and standard registration is $65.
