Shug’s Karaoke Nights with DJ Wayne’s World brings sing-along fun to SHUG’s at Brooklyn South Square. The song selection is wide, and participants of all experience levels are welcome to take the mic. Entry is free, the venue is 21 and up, and drink specials include $1 Hamm’s and $1 off Malört. Friends can enjoy music, drinks, and a lively karaoke atmosphere while DJ Wayne’s World keeps the tunes coming.

Hosted by singer songwriter Landon Byrd, the event focuses on original artists and includes sign ups for those who want to perform. The venue is 21 and over, and performers under 21 can coordinate with the host about taking the stage. Each OMM also highlights a featured act with a 30 minute set and compensation. This edition features MA, a half Vietnamese independent artist based in Charlotte, North Carolina, who describes himself as a truth seeker and world maker. His music blends influences from indie rock, R&B and soul, and folk, marked by strong vocals, distinctive guitar work, and clever, imaginative lyrics.

Put your country music knowledge to the test at a music bingo night with Richard Wagoner. Each game keeps the focus on country while the theme changes from week to week. Numbers are swapped for songs, so listen for the track, mark your card when it matches, and compete for prizes.

This relaxed, social open shag dance takes place at The Swanee Theatre and does not include instruction. Admission is $7 per attendee, payable upon entry.

Shug’s at Brooklyn South Square hosts an evening with David Childers and Jason Ringenberg, joined by Carolina Serpents. Childers brings powerful songwriting rooted in North Carolina, drawing from Americana, folk, and Southern rock. Ringenberg, the original frontman of Jason & the Scorchers, helped propel roots rock toward alt-country and has been an influential figure across Americana and cowpunk. Together they offer a pairing of two singular voices whose work has left a lasting imprint on American underground music. Admission is free, and the venue is 21 and over.
