The third annual rally gathers at The Lazy River Family Campground for a riverside, group-friendly base camp with access to electricity, water, and nearby restrooms, plus showers close at hand. The campsite offers more room for participants and a bit of extra seclusion compared with last year. Built for capable off-road rigs, the event outlines clear vehicle requirements. Rigs on 33 inch tires must have a winch and two locking differentials, and skid plates and body protection are strongly recommended. Rigs on 35 inch tires must have a winch and at least one locking differential. There is no hosted breakfast, so plan to bring your own or visit local options such as McDonald’s. The schedule features check-in, a guided convoy on challenging New Hampshire Class VI roads with routes adjusted to suit blue or black trail preferences, led by trail leader Paul Pepler, the Land Stewardship Director. A community potluck dinner follows. Another guided outing heads to Pennywise, a private property exclusive to the club that offers blue, black, and a few red trails with adaptable ratings, led by Mike White and John Shaughnessy, before everyone returns to camp. All adult tickets include two guided trail rides on challenging terrain that cover the Class VI roads and the private trails at Pennywise. Kids attend free. Non-members are required to purchase a $37.50 guest membership.

Students use their own cars with a coach, learning to manage unpredictable situations, react more quickly, build awareness, and start anticipating the actions of other drivers. The day blends about two hours of classroom across three sessions with extensive behind-the-wheel practice. On course, participants work on skid control on a wet skid pad, rapid lane changes for accident avoidance, threshold braking and ABS, and a slalom that teaches weight transfer. Where possible, the curriculum adds a two wheels off recovery and a tailgating exercise. Classroom topics include proper seating and hand positions, mirror setup, the tire contact patch, weight transfer theory, long distance vision, and situational awareness, along with discussions about distractions such as radios and phones. Where possible, a semi truck may be staged to demonstrate blind spots by having students and adults sit in the cab, and an air bag may be deployed to reinforce safe hand placement. Parents are encouraged to spend the day, may attend the classroom portion, and can speak with instructors who are available throughout the day. Lunch is provided for students, parents, and volunteers. The course fee is $175.

The 68th annual Canterbury Fair brings the town’s historic center to life with community traditions, activities, and entertainment. Look for the Woodchuck Classic 5k Road Race and the 2k Chipmunk Classic Kids Run, children’s games and face painting, a used book sale, live music, antique vehicles, demonstrations of traditional crafts, and a large tag sale at the Historic Town Hall. Food options include a chicken barbecue prepared by the Sunset Mountain Fish and Game Club, with tickets available for purchase. Music will be heard across Canterbury Center, with performers such as Mr. Aaron, The Ragged Mountain Band, and Suzuki Strings, with more performers to come. Develop skills and game sense at a competitive 3v3 summer basketball camp designed to maximize growth and on-court experience. The session then shifts to live 3v3 play so participants can apply what they learned in real situations and sharpen decision making in small sided games. Pros compete for cash payouts. Amateurs play for Marty Bucks store credit, and every amateur receives a players pack. Designed for newcomers to shooting and useful as a refresher for experienced owners, this eight hour class builds safe, confident pistol handling from the ground up. Spend the day learning core safety practices, how pistols operate and how various handgun types differ, how to choose a first handgun, and the correct way to load and unload. The course also explains New Hampshire pistol permitting and carrying, federal rules for transporting firearms across state lines, places where carry is allowed or restricted, and methods for secure firearm storage. Ammunition fundamentals are included, with guidance on selecting the proper rounds. Instruction covers stance, a solid grip, sight alignment, and smooth trigger press and reset. Course materials, firearms, and equipment are provided. Do not bring ammunition to class. Training takes place inside the Zoo Health Club in Concord, NH.

This introductory session on forest bathing combines a presentation with time outdoors at the Lodge at White Park. The first portion explores the origins of Shinrin-yoku and its science-supported health benefits, along with Brittany’s personal story and healing through Forest Therapy. Afterward, participants take a short forest bathing walk that includes a sensory awareness meditation and nature invitations intended to awaken the senses and offer a first taste of the practice.
