The Long Island Gay Men’s Chorus begins its holiday concert season with a kickoff rehearsal at Christ Lutheran Church. This is a working rehearsal, not a public performance. The chorus is seeking new voices and welcomes members of any gender, with no formal auditions. Singers should be ready to take a part in bass, baritone, tenor 2 or tenor 1, commit to weekly rehearsals, and learn and memorize a program that will be presented at three locations across Long Island. New members pay a one-time $50 music library rental fee, and all members pay seasonal dues of $50. Payment plans are available, and fundraising helps keep costs stable. The Long Island Gay Men’s Chorus is supported by Long Island Grants for the Arts through funds provided by the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Huntington Arts Council.

Explore the Hawkins-Mount House through special guided tours presented in connection with LIM’s America250 commemoration. This rambling 18th century homestead in Stony Brook, built around 1725, is the ancestral home of noted American genre painter William Sidney Mount, who created many of his hallmark works in an attic studio here. The house stood witness to the American Revolution. Space is limited, and registration is required. Part of LIM’s Long Island 250 programming.

An all-Ford car show organized by Thunderbird Owners of New York raises funds for Building Homes for Heroes and its work supporting veterans and first responders. The event offers a meaningful day of car culture with classic and custom Ford vehicles on display. Participants can look forward to fifty Judges' Choice awards and a 50/50 drawing. All Ford vehicles are eligible to participate, and vendors are welcome with advance notice. Food and restrooms will be available on site. Pre-registration is $20 and day-of registration is $25.
