Designed as a calm, welcoming evening for moms, caregivers, and families, this check-in offers time to connect, receive support, and discover community resources. Dinner is provided, with opportunities to meet other families and speak with representatives from Wright’s Way Foundation, doulas, therapists, and other resource partners. Each family receives a care package to take home. It is open to those who are pregnant or postpartum, caring for little ones, navigating life after a NICU stay, or simply looking for a supportive space.

Celebrate the launch of The Intergalactics, a middle grade science fiction novel by Erik Jon Slangerup for ages 8 and up. The story centers on a mutant boy who crash lands far from home and begins to question his origins, offering a high energy adventure suited to readers who enjoy The Last Kids on Earth and the work of Scott Reintgen. The author’s free roaming childhood in the eighties helped shape his love of adventure tales, reflected in the middle grade Far Flung Falls series. He has also written several picture books, including the award-winning Dirt Boy. Slangerup is a father of five and lives in Columbus, Ohio.

A new Dunkin' is marking its grand opening with coffee, giveaways, and a community partnership benefiting Columbus Humane. The first 100 people lined up outside the restaurant, not in the drive thru, will earn one free medium hot or iced coffee each day for 100 days. Participation requires the Dunkin' app and a Dunkin' Perks account, and the offer is valid only at this location. Columbus Humane will be on site with adoptable animals to meet. A prize wheel will give attendees chances to win Dunkin' gear, limited edition merchandise, gift cards, and more. Photos with Sprinkles, the Dunkin' mascot, add to the festivities. The celebration also features a ribbon cutting and a donation presentation to Columbus Humane.

Settle in on the lawn for a Halloween-themed film, with complimentary popcorn available while supplies last. Bring a blanket or a chair for comfortable viewing. Drinks from the bar and bites from a food truck will be available.

Celebrate automotive enthusiasm at the 7th annual car and truck show at Steve Austins Group in Bellefontaine. Registration is available for participants, and the first 100 to sign up receive dash plaques. Awards recognize the top 30 entries, plus a Best in Show. A 50/50, food trucks, door prizes, and a silent auction add to the experience.

Open Studio invites people of all ages to explore materials and spark ideas through hands-on making, guided by monthly themes connected to special exhibitions and the art on display. Visitors are encouraged to think like artists while experimenting with a wide variety of supplies in the Studio. The first Saturday session each month is reserved for members. A designated quiet hour offers a calmer experience for guests with sensory sensitivities.

Spend a day celebrating basset hounds at Pizzuro Park Dog Park, featuring basset races, raffle baskets, a live auction, chances to create paw print art, competitions recognizing the longest ears and the biggest paws, a costume contest, nail trims, items for sale and more. This is the biggest in-person fundraiser of the year, and last year welcomed 270 people along with 162 bassets. All dogs are welcome, and standard dog park rules apply. The gathering will take place rain or shine. Bring a blanket, a chair, and money for activities and purchases.

Colony Cats volunteers will be on site at Petco Lennox Town Center to help prospective adopters connect with adoptable cats and kittens. Volunteers will assist with introductions so visitors can get to know the animals.

Colony Cats (& dogs) brings adoptable cats and kittens to Petco in Upper Arlington. Each cat has been tested for FIV and FeLV, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered, and dewormed, and is ready for a new home. An approved adoption application is required.
