Greenwood Historical District, TulsaMarket Medicine
At The Kitchen at Burning Cedar Sovereign Wellness, Market Medicine is a monthly, participatory cooking workshop centered on the idea that food can support healing in body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Each gathering works with locally grown, in-season produce to teach a new recipe or cooking method that uplifts Indigenous culinary traditions and seasonal eating. Participants cook together and observe demonstrations, while guided conversations explore sovereignty in Indigenous food systems, traditional approaches to nourishment, and how ingredients are used for culture and wellness. The session wraps up with a shared meal and time to connect and reflect. Beginners are welcome. Admission is free, and space is reserved for Indigenous relatives. Ingredients come from a Farmers Market Meetup, though taking part in that activity is not required for the workshop.
