Featured aircraft are slated to include the OH-6 Cayuse, UH-1 Huey, AH-1 Cobra, and OH-58 Kiowa, with hopes that the active unit will also provide a UH-60 Blackhawk and AH-64 Apache. This tribute is being called the Gathering of Eagles. After the ceremony, the vehicles and helicopters are expected to move to Outlaw Field at Clarksville Regional Airport. The vehicles, along with the OH-6 and OH-58, are planned as static displays open at no cost to active-duty Troopers, veterans, and the public in honor of the 2/17’s service. The Huey and Cobra are intended to offer paid rides. Reunion activities are based at the Hilton Garden Inn Clarksville. Support to help cover event costs, estimated at $50,000, is welcome.
