2026 Music City RBA Labor Day Weekend Show

The Music City Rabbit Breeders Association hosts its annual Labor Day weekend show at Middle Tennessee State University’s Tennessee Livestock Center in Murfreesboro, featuring three Open shows, two Youth shows, and a selection of specialty classes. This ARBA sanctioned event welcomes any ARBA recognized breed to compete and earn legs, even if a national breed club sanction is not listed. Breeds that bring 10 or more entries at this show will be sanctioned for next year’s Labor Day weekend event. Show Superintendent is Silas Drake. For entry questions, contact Show Secretary Marge Drake at showingrabbits@yahoo.com or 931-212-0462. Top placements include Best in Show and Reserve in Show. In the Open shows, breeds reaching at least 10 entries are eligible for Best of Breed and Best Opposite Sex. In Youth, any breed with 10 or more entries receives ribbons. An ARBA registrar will be available. Exhibitors should bring an official ARBA card, the rabbit, and a three generation pedigree. The registration fee is $6 per rabbit. Youth exhibitors may also enter the Open C show in addition to their A and B shows. Entry fees are $4 per show for pre-entries, $5 per show for late entries, and $6 per show for onsite entries. Fur entries are $2 per show. Changes other than ear number made onsite are $1 per rabbit per show. Fees are payable by cash or check only, and there are no refunds for scratched entries. Specialty offerings include Dutch, sponsored by Southern Dutch Fanciers, and English and French Lops, sponsored by Lops of the South. Dutch awards include BOB, BOS, BOV, and BOSV. Dutch entries are handled by Marge Drake at showingrabbits@yahoo.com, with day-of entries at $7 per rabbit. Lops entries are handled by Sherry Bailey at lopsouthentry@yahoo.com, with a discounted pre-entry rate for club members and a $6 late entry option. An equipment vendor will accept pre-orders and product inquiries by email or through Facebook for pickup at the show. Jubilee Concessions, a Murfreesboro based food truck, will serve breakfast and lunch items. Soft drinks are available through the vendor, and complimentary coffee will be offered by MCRBA while supplies last. Official MCRBA T-shirts will be on sale for $15 in sizes S through 3XL. A raffle table will operate during the event, and donations of quality new or clean, gently used items are appreciated. If donating a rabbit, please include a pedigree when available or note if it is pet quality. A self-serve photo table will be set up so exhibitors can take pictures of their rabbits and awards at no charge. Paved RV sites close to the venue offer water, 15, 30, and 50 amp electric service and access to a dump station for $25 per night. There is no host motel, and a list of suggested lodging in Murfreesboro is available from the organizers. The show follows ARBA rules. All entry changes must go through the Show Secretary prior to judging a breed, and this is a no remark card show. The Superintendent may refuse entries, set judging order, or reassign judges as needed. Carrying cages must be leak proof, and all rabbits must have a permanent, legible tattoo in the left ear. Only exhibitors with entries may sell rabbits in the showroom, and animals sold after entry must either be shown under the original name or scratched. Youth exhibitors are responsible for getting their rabbits to the appropriate table. The club may refuse entries from within 150 miles of a confirmed RCD, RHD, or VHD outbreak within 60 days of the entry deadline. Parents are responsible for their children, and exhibitors are responsible for their animals and belongings.
