Distant Worlds - Alien Life?
This planetarium presentation, Distant Worlds, explores the possibility of life beyond Earth and reflects on humanity's long-standing curiosity about the night sky. It considers the vastness of the cosmos with its countless stars and planets while noting that Earth remains the only confirmed world with life. Created in Germany through a collaboration among the planetariums in Münster, Bochum, Kiel, Mannheim, Osnabrück and Wolfsburg, and produced at LWL-Planetarium Münster, the film features visuals partly rendered with Digital Sky 2 from Sky-Skan Inc. Directed by Björn Voß of Münster Planetarium, it runs 53 minutes. Admission is $5 per person. Seating is limited to 70 with two wheelchair-accessible areas. Recommended for ages 5 and up. The final Scrambler Pro Series Shootout brings the regular season to a close, and when the points are tallied after this event the top ten racers in each class will advance to the championship playoff at Freedom of War. The schedule features a Friday Test and Tune session with tech inspection available for $40, followed by the main Scrambler Pro Series racing on Saturday. Spectator side general admission is $20. Pit side parking for non racers is $50. RV parking without a race car is $100 per day, and RV parking with power is $175. A $5 convenience fee applies to all credit card purchases. Points are awarded for key milestones. Passing tech earns 35 points, each competition round win is worth 20 points, and a bye also awards 20 points. Class payouts and rules for the first five races apply here. In Scrambler, the winner receives $5,000 with a $250 entry and a $40 tech card, a 20 car minimum, a .400 pro tree, a random index between 5.50 and 5.80 each round, door cars only, no wheelie bars, and no delay boxes. This camp is designed to give the coaching staff a complete evaluation of prospective players. Position players will participate in the 60-yard dash, defensive evaluations, on-field batting practice, and vertical jump testing. Offensive metrics will be measured via trackman. Athletes will also tour the facility with current ACU Baseball players. Pitchers will throw a 12-15 pitch bullpen on Trackman and participate in pre-throw and post-throw routines, along with vertical and broad jump testing. Pitching metrics will be provided via Trackman, and pitchers will also tour the weight room and baseball facilities, followed by a pitching talk and Q&A. Participants should bring necessary baseball equipment, including a bat, glove, baseball pants, hat, helmet, and sunscreen. Catchers should bring their own gear. Both turf shoes and cleats are required.

Public Show - Double Feature - Einstein's Gravity Playlist & Cosmic Mashups (7:00pm)
A special double feature brings together two short immersive films that explore the frontiers of astrophysics. First up, Einstein’s Gravity Playlist invites viewers to listen in on the ripples of space and time that Einstein envisioned more than a century ago, tracing how gravitational waves are detected and how these breakthroughs deepen our understanding of the universe’s darker mysteries. Released in March 2018 and running 23 minutes, this program was produced by Montana State University and is narrated by Alisa Amador. The second feature, Cosmic Mashups, follows Dr. Becky Nevin’s research into how collisions between galaxies can awaken supermassive black holes and energize the centers of most galaxies. Produced by Fiske Planetarium in collaboration with experts from CU Boulder, this 21 minute film debuted in February 2023 and was directed by Dr. Nevin. It is designed for general audiences, particularly ages 14 to adults. Admission is $5 per person. Seating is limited to 70 with two designated wheelchair seating areas.
