Wildlife Discovery Camp - Summer Day Camp for Kids

Wildlife Discovery Camp returns for its second year with a week of kid-focused, hands-on wildlife encounters and conservation learning. Designed for ages 4 to 14, the program highlights 13 different species through close-up experiences, creative projects, and animal enrichment activities that emphasize why conservation matters. Families can choose single-day passes centered on a specific animal or reserve the full week at a discounted rate. Each day includes a take-home craft, an educational lesson about the featured species, and a chance for campers to help prepare enrichment for the animals. Throughout the week, campers may meet three types of monkeys such as spider monkeys, capuchins, and squirrel monkeys, with supervised hand-feeding, gentle petting, and an art activity inspired by the day’s theme. An otter-focused session features Asian small-clawed otters named Fisher and Ocean, where campers can splash from the edge of a shallow pond, use water blasters, and even take home a small canvas painted by the otters; a towel may be helpful for those who want to get wet. Another themed day spotlights a two-toed sloth named Stanley in a lush habitat, along with binturongs Ravenna and Lucian, paired with a sloth or bearcat craft and a foraging enrichment activity. On the lemur day, ruffed lemurs Theo, Soraya, Edwin, Giada, and Alani greet campers for supervised hand-feeding and petting, plus a matching art project and enrichment building. The week also features foxes and wildcats, including fennec foxes Lake and Linc, bat-eared foxes Wilder and Aspen, an African serval named Azura who enjoys fetch, and an African caracal named Elias, along with an animal-themed art project and an optional opportunity to hold a ball python. This program is designed for kids only and there is not a general viewing area. To preserve space, non-participating siblings should be limited to newborns and only one adult per family is requested. Parents and guardians will not take part in animal encounters during the camp; those seeking a family-inclusive visit can look for a family-friendly event or arrange a private tour. Volunteers and staff will photograph camp moments and share a Google Drive folder afterward so families can save images. When selecting a single-day pass, choose the day that features the animal your child wants to learn about, while the weeklong option covers all featured animals. Tickets are non-refundable, and all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
