Spring2ACTion with ASO!
Alexandria celebrates 16 years of Spring2ACTion with a collaboration between the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, ASO Sympatico, and Chadwicks. During the celebration, Chadwicks will donate 10 percent of proceeds to the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, turning each meal into direct support for the organization. Guests can enjoy a delicious meal while contributing to ASO.
Annual Art Show
Seen, the annual art show from Friends of Guest House, presents original work by women in Guest House, a residential reentry program that supports women as they rebuild their lives after incarceration. Participants responded to a simple invitation to share their stories or to create something that simply felt good, resulting in a collection focused on personal narratives and creative expression. The event affirms that every woman’s story deserves to be witnessed, and that the past does not determine the future. Admission is free, the community is welcome, and bringing a friend is encouraged.
Principle Gallery2026 Earth Day 5K/10K
A chip timed 5k and 10k at Ben Brenman Park in Alexandria features flat, paved paths with gentle grades and views of the park’s pond and Cameron Run. The 10k follows an out and back section completed twice, and the route is the Ben Brenman East course. Participants earn points in the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series, as well as the Spring Series. All runners receive a finisher medal and themed socks. A virtual option is available for those who prefer to complete the distance remotely. Support on course includes water stations for both distances, with several along the 10k and one on the 5k, and some stations offer sports drink. Restrooms are available within the park. Live results are available online and through a QR code on site, with final standings and series points posted after the race. SMS runner tracking lets friends and family follow progress. Awards recognize the top three men and women overall, plus first and second place in the age groups 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and above. Staff photos are shared on social media after the race. The event partners with Operation Turbo in support of its Boxes of Home program. On-site packet pickup and same-day registration are offered, and shirt sizes are not guaranteed for those who sign up at the event. The race is held rain or shine, and adjustments may be made if weather conditions require. Banditing is prohibited.
