Meeting
A supportive fiction critique circle meets in the Haggen food court. Bring a few printed copies of a 4 to 6 page piece you want feedback on. Participants read their work aloud, then the group responds by highlighting what works well before moving into questions, unclear spots, and thoughtful suggestions.
HaggenUnsung
Unsung features the Olympia Chamber Orchestra at Capital High School in a program highlighting orchestral music drawn from opera. This performance concludes the 2025 to 2026 season and offers a graceful finale centered on the orchestra’s role in the operatic tradition.
Capital High SchoolPub Sing
Oly Oral Tradition meets for a monthly Pub Sing that celebrates shared song. Expect plenty of chorus-friendly pieces that invite group singing, primarily in English with room for other languages, and a strong leaning toward traditional material without excluding other sources. It suits people who enjoy singing with others and are seeking a regular community-centered music gathering.
Cup of Swords TavernCARS & COINS
An arcade-infused car show takes over Insert Coin Olympia, uniting custom vehicles, sponsors, games, prizes, and trophies under one roof for a lively, family-friendly experience. The showcase includes a judged competition with awards and a 50-vehicle entry cap to keep the spotlight on each build. Visitors can spend time playing classic and modern arcade titles, check out sponsor activations, and enjoy giveaways and prizes. A robot bartender will be pouring drinks, and food will be available. Spectator admission is free. Judged vehicle participation is limited and requires tickets. To keep the venue and community happy, there is no excessive revving, no burnouts, and no reckless driving. Everyone is asked to respect the space and the builds.
