United Women in Faith is presenting a community pie sale outside the Church of the Pines, offering a variety of fresh, homemade pies baked by volunteers for $15 each, available until they are gone. Proceeds support mission projects that serve women, children, and families locally, nationally, and globally. A previous sale raised $575 through the generosity of bakers, volunteers, and customers. Pies tend to sell quickly, so the best selection is typically available earlier in the sale. Fresh pie donations are welcome, with sign-ups at the Information Table in the Ministry Center at Church of the Pines.

The Northwoods Filmmaking Society welcomes filmmakers and film enthusiasts of all experience levels for a meetup centered on creating stories in Wisconsin’s Northwoods. This gathering features a casual video conversation with British-Irish filmmaker Oscar Harding, whose career began in historical research and entertainment journalism before moving into marketing and distribution consulting. Harding has contributed to projects in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, including the Academy Award-nominated Theeb and the Academy Award-longlisted North Circular. His first feature as a director, A Life on the Farm, received international theatrical distribution and played at festivals such as Fantasia, Fantastic Fest, and the Edinburgh International Film Festival. The film was longlisted for two British Independent Film Awards and has been shown on every continent, including Antarctica. He is currently developing a Wisconsin-set horror comedy.

His concerts move from brisk Telecaster driven roots country, early rock and roll, roadhouse blues, Americana ballads, and bluegrass to instrumental explorations inspired by North Africa on five string banjo and South American flavors on the Andean ten stringed charango. Sayles has toured nationally and internationally and has performed with artists such as Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, Asleep at the Wheel, Larry Sparks, Doyle Lawson, the Duhks, Uncle Earl, Hot Club of Cowtown, and members of Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Review. Known for storytelling and a deep connection to American roots history, his shows echo the spirit of 1950s and 60s coffeehouses while keeping a foothold in lively beer halls, honky tonks, and night clubs. Philville Records operated in Ventura, California from 2009 to 2019 and is now based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. In addition to solo performances, Sayles continues to write, record, and produce, performing with the Driftless Revelers, the Ventura based Ventucky String Band, and his California alt country project the Detroit Sportsmen's Congress, as well as collaborating on alt country and roots projects in Eau Claire, Duluth, Marquette, Los Angeles, Ventura, Portland, and Santa Barbara.

This showdown is Game 6 of 11 in the Snowhawks’ 65th season, adding another chapter to a rivalry that has stretched for more than two decades. Expect a big crowd, with bleachers filling quickly; lawn chairs are welcome along the first and third base lines and behind the right field fence. The 7th Annual Home Run Derby features talent from across the league, and before the final round two fans will get a chance to swing in snowshoes. Concessions include brats, burgers, drinks, and their signature homemade pies, which can sell out quickly. Proceeds from this game support a club and cause listed as TBD, and popcorn sales benefit the Lake Tomahawk Volunteer Fire Department. A 50/50 winner is announced after the third inning, with additional raffle prizes in the seventh thanks to local sponsors. Team gear will be available, with Snowhawks merchandise behind home plate to support fan-experience and seating improvements. Dazzle’s Demons apparel is slated for pre-order with pickup before the game, benefiting three causes tied to their 2026 fundraising initiative.
