Supportive moms come together for a relaxed lactation education meet-up focused on taking things one day at a time. Attendees can ask and answer questions, learn breastfeeding techniques, and build friendships along the way. This gathering happens twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. Hosted by Campbell County Health Maternal Child in the second OB waiting area.

Mister C Live: Air Is Everywhere

Mister C presents a high energy STEAM show all about air, conceived and performed by Kevin Cornell. Demonstrations feature chilling effects with liquid nitrogen, bursts from a T shirt cannon, torrents of flying toilet paper, and ping pong ball launchers, along with additional surprises that keep the learning momentum going. With more than twenty years in education, Mister C uses humor and the engineering design process to turn everyday ideas into memorable lessons that aim to engage both students and teachers.

Dungeons and Dugouts MTG Strixhaven Prerelease Events

Magic: The Gathering players can take part in Strixhaven prerelease events offered on both a Friday and a Wednesday. Entry is $45 for one event, or $85 for both, and spots can be reserved in advance with a preorder. Each participant receives a prerelease kit that includes six Play Booster packs, a promo, and a spindown die. Sub sandwiches will be served for dinner during the Friday event, and pizza will be provided for lunch on the Wednesday event.

From Screen to Shop: CNC Tool Tote Homeschool MakerClass

This middle school homeschool MakerClass at Area 59 introduces students in grade 6 and up to digital fabrication through a practical build. Over six weeks, participants plan, construct, and customize a wooden tool tote while developing core skills used in contemporary fabrication and manufacturing. They begin with precise measuring, layout, and safe assembly of wooden parts. Then they create a personal graphic on a computer and have it engraved with a CNC router, linking on-screen design to results in the shop. Each participant finishes with a sturdy, shop-worthy tote featuring their own CNC-engraved artwork. The class is suited to learners ready to move past basic maker projects and work with authentic fabrication tools and processes in a supportive, hands-on setting. Instruction covers safe use of basic shop tools, accurate assembly, simple computer graphics, and how CNC machines convert digital files into physical pieces, guiding students through a complete project from start to finish. The fee is $160, and materials are provided. Basic computer skills are needed.

Take Back the Night

This family-friendly awareness event acknowledges the seriousness of sexual assault while creating an uplifting atmosphere. It focuses on resilience and a message of hope for a brighter future and a stronger community. The agenda features a short awareness walk around the Gillette College campus, a free dinner catered by Pizza Carrello, and inspirational speakers Dr. Janel Oberlander and Tammy McArthur, LPC, CRC, HHC.

Creative Aging: Acrylic Painting

A Creative Aging session focused on acrylic painting is designed for adults 55 and older. Coordinated by Campbell County Public Library and supported by a Wyoming Arts grant, the class takes place at AVA Community Art Center.

BridgeLab: Engineering for Homeschoolers

This six week homeschool program invites students in grades 4 to 6 to explore the science of bridge building through hands-on engineering. Participants design, construct, test, and refine model bridges using craft sticks, basic hand tools, and structured challenges while investigating how compression, tension, load paths, and overall efficiency affect a structure’s strength. Each session builds on the last as students compare beam and truss styles, make predictions using sound engineering reasoning, and practice precise, intentional construction. Controlled load tests help reveal what works and what fails, encouraging analysis and thoughtful redesign. The experience emphasizes critical thinking, data collection, collaboration, and iterative problem solving, reflecting the mindset used by professional engineers. The series concludes with a final load test challenge where students present their strongest and most efficient bridges. No prior experience is needed, and all materials are provided.

Second Hand Sale

Dungeons and Dugouts hosts an annual resale event that gives tabletop fans a chance to clear shelf space and discover preowned games at wallet friendly prices. Sellers bring items to the shop, fill out an in store spreadsheet at drop off, and set their own prices. Every item offered must be complete. The full proceeds from sold items are issued as store credit, not cash. After the sale concludes, there is a two week window to reclaim any unsold items. Unclaimed items after that period are considered abandoned, become store property, and do not receive credit. Eligible submissions include board games, card games, puzzles, and role playing game books or boxed sets. Marked or highlighted RPG materials are acceptable when priced with condition in mind. Trading and collectible card game collections are accepted in limited quantities on a case by case basis. These must come in single row boxes, each box is sealed before going on the sales floor and sold for one set price with no individual card sales. A tag summarizing highlights or notes is attached to the outside of each box. Cards should be in lightly played to near mint condition, and each person may bring up to six single row boxes. Gaming accessories such as dice, dice bags, sleeves, deck boxes, and playmats are not accepted.

43rd Annual SPE Crawfish Boil

The 43rd annual SPE Crawfish Boil brings Louisiana-style crawfish, brats, burgers, cold drinks, and live music to the Wyoming Center at Cam-plex, all in support of local families facing medical challenges. What began as a backyard gathering has grown into a cherished Gillette tradition that helps ease the burden of medical expenses for neighbors in need. Lunch and dinner service are planned, and crawfish will be served until it is gone. Tickets, sponsorships, and volunteer support all contribute to making a difference, creating a day centered on food, music, and community spirit.

Dungeons & Dugouts Commander FNM Magic the Gathering

This is open play in Commander, organized in pods. Entry is the purchase of one booster pack of your choice plus one dollar. Each participant receives a booster pack and an FNM promo, and additional packs are used as prize support distributed at the end of the evening. Proxies and counterfeit cards are not permitted for in-store play. Before each game, pods are asked to have a brief turn zero conversation to compare deck power and set expectations.

Light It Up: Metal Candle Cover (Homeschool MakerClass)

This hands-on fabrication class for grades 6 and up guides students to imagine, design, and build a custom metal lantern using digital tools found in modern manufacturing. It begins with an introduction to designing for metal cutting, then moves into design software where each participant creates a light-friendly pattern using shapes, symbols, silhouettes, or repeating motifs. Once the files are prepared for the MetalFab system, a precision laser cuts the patterns into thin sheet metal. After cutting, students clean and prep their pieces, practice safe handling and finishing, form the metal into a cylindrical lantern, and complete assembly with simple fasteners. A battery LED candle is placed inside to reveal glowing designs and cast shadows. The class covers the full workflow from design to precision cutting to fabrication to finishing. Everyone leaves with a lantern they created and a stronger understanding of how digital ideas become real metal products. No prior experience is required, and all materials, instruction, and safety equipment are provided. Participants also gain exposure to tools and processes used in manufacturing, welding, metalworking, and industrial fabrication careers.

Dungeons & Dugouts Lorcana Championship Tournament Winterspell

Take part in a Disney Lorcana Winterspell Championship Tournament featuring Core Constructed play. The event will only run with at least four participants. Entry is $12, and pre-registration is available. Every participant receives a full art, alternate art version of the Set Championship promo card, with a special foil reserved for the Top 8. The top player earns a Champion playmat featuring Tinkerbell. Core Constructed guidelines apply. Decks must include at least 60 cards, with no maximum as long as you can shuffle without assistance. You may include up to four copies of any card that shares the same full name across all versions. Each deck can use up to two ink colors. Players draw seven cards to start and may take one mulligan by shuffling any number of cards back into the deck and drawing the same amount. The goal is to be the first to reach 20 lore. Only official Disney Lorcana cards are permitted, and proxies are not allowed.

Metal Candle Cover Maker Class

Bring your ideas to life by designing and fabricating a metal candle cover that throws intricate light and shadow. The session begins in Adobe Illustrator, where you will place and embed a favorite silhouette into a candle cover layout, whether that image is trees, wildlife, a mountain skyline, or a personal graphic. After the artwork is ready, the design is cut from galvanized steel on Area 59’s new MetalFab system, then shaped and assembled into its finished form. Set over an LED candle, the result projects glowing patterns that highlight your creativity and newly learned fabrication skills. No prior Illustrator experience is needed, and the process is guided step by step from digital design through metal forming.

1935 Refined Western 1 Year Anniversary

1935 Refined Western marks its first anniversary with a storewide sale and added treats. Save $10 on purchases of $50, $25 on $100, and $60 on $200, along with 15 to 25 percent off throughout the shop. Experience a calm, sensory-focused walk at Dalbey Park in Gillette that draws on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku to encourage slowing down and reconnecting with nature. Madison, a Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, leads gentle invitations that support relaxation, stress reduction, and connection with yourself, others, and the natural world. Participants gather at the playground next to the bridge by the fishing lake, beginning with a brief grounding moment by the water. The session includes simple prompts to notice sights, sounds, and textures around the lake and through the park, along with time to share reflections in a welcoming circle. It concludes with a small tea-based gratitude ceremony. All ages and abilities are welcome, and a minimum of four participants is required. Advance registration is requested to help prepare tea. This multi-session MakerClass guides participants through building a large handcrafted wooden American flag in the 1776 Betsy Ross style, complete with carved stars and raised lettering. The project is paced across several meetings to allow proper time for glue-ups, CNC carving, sanding, painting, and final finishing, so the flag can move thoughtfully from raw boards to a polished display piece. Along the way, participants learn how to prepare and assemble wood panels, operate a CNC router to create the star field and lettering, smooth carved surfaces for a clean finish, and apply stain and paint for the classic red, white, and blue look. No previous CNC experience is needed, and all materials and instruction are provided. Local Color Spring Art Show

A pop-up art experience in Gillette transforms a newly built home or an upscale office into a gallery, filling walls, corners, and windows with artwork so visitors can easily picture pieces in their own spaces. Free admission invites art lovers to explore hundreds of works from more than 20 local and regional creators, with each artist contributing around nine pieces. The collection spans original pottery, metal sculpture, handcrafted furniture, paintings and wall art, stained glass, and mosaics. A gift shop complements the main show with smaller items such as handmade pottery, cards, glass jewelry, and both prints and framed prints. Artists represented include Blanche Guernsey, Misty Maynard, Callie Andrew, Kristine Bauer, and Sandi Aberle, along with many others from the region.

The Casper, Wyoming group has been on the rise since 2022, drawing on influences like Whiskey Myers, Kolton Moore and the Clever Few, and Treaty Oak Revival. They bring a Wyoming roots spirit with lively, heartfelt delivery that connects with fans of classic rock and traditional western music. Protective Pistol Class

At Gillette Gun Club, this foundational course focuses on carrying and using a handgun for personal protection. The classroom portion covers legal and moral considerations, developing an effective mindset, and selecting appropriate gear. After the lecture, participants complete a skills assessment and receive coached range instruction. The course includes a short written exam and a live fire qualification. Those who meet course standards receive a certificate of completion that fulfills Wyoming training requirements for a concealed carry license. Students should bring a compact or larger handgun with the holster they use for carry, at least one spare magazine with a pouch or a revolver speed loader, and a cover garment. Plan to fire up to 150 rounds. By the end, students will understand when force may be used to resist criminal violence, the legal and ethical framework for those decisions, the importance of recognizing threats early and avoiding conflict when possible, where carry is permitted and prohibited, how to choose the right firearm and supporting equipment, how to draw efficiently from concealment, and how to deliver precise, accountable shots under pressure.

14th Annual Strawberry Festival Benefit

Now in its 14th year, this Strawberry Festival benefit at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church offers a welcoming mix of shopping, food, and family activities. Robo-Rookies Lab

Dyno Day

Engines take center stage at Gillette College Technical Education Center as vehicles get measured on the dyno while spectators watch the pulls. The cost is $100 for three pulls on the Blessed Performance Dyno, $100 for three pulls for semi trucks on the College Tandem Dyno, $50 for three pulls for pickups on the College Tandem Dyno, and high school students can make three pulls on the College Tandem Dyno at no charge. A car and truck show is included. There will be a raffle with tickets priced at $20. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and tours of the technical facilities are available. Expect plenty of horsepower and engine noise as rides are put to the test.

Mother’s Day Garden Brunch

Honor mothers with a garden-inspired brunch experience featuring thoughtful touches and a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere. Each mother receives flowers and a custom Garden Mimosa. Families can capture a keepsake photo, and children can create a coloring card for mom. The meal is served in two courses. Warm, house-made Italian zeppoli donuts arrive first for the table to share. For the second course, choose one entrée: The 1892 Breakfast Sandwich on a buttery croissant with crispy prosciutto, creamy ricotta, and soft scrambled eggs finished with basil chive oil, served with roasted potatoes. The Benny features house-made crabcakes topped with poached eggs and rich hollandaise, also with roasted potatoes. An American Wagyu burger comes on toasted sourdough with house-made bacon jam and blackberry jam, served with crispy fries. A bacon and blackberry grilled cheese melts Gruyère with the house-made jams on grilled sourdough, served with fries. Additional Garden Mimosas and specialty cocktails are available. The experience is $65 per guest. This is a pre-ticketed event with limited seating. Advance purchase is required to secure a table, and all ticket sales are final. Energy Town Throwdown Strongman Competition

Athletes from around the region gather at Deluxe Harley-Davidson for a full day strongman contest sanctioned by Strongman Corporation. Hosted by Dane Kelley, the competition showcases classic challenges, including a one rep max log press, a car deadlift for maximum repetitions, a heavy drag line pull, a giant frame carry decided by fastest time, and a last man standing stone over bar challenge. The event is open to spectators. Women’s divisions include novice 73 kg and heavyweight, open 64 kg, 73 kg, 82 kg, and heavyweight, masters 40 plus at 73 kg and heavyweight, and teen.
