🦷 Teethe @ Shrine Social Club | Friday (9/12) at 7:00pm – Shrine Basement has that secret handshake vibe for anyone still pining for sweaty live shows. Teethe and an all-ages crew of underdogs will pack the room with punchy riffs, sly grooves, and enough energy to make you ditch your grocery run. Trust me.
🍅 Something Rotten! @ Boise Little Theater | Friday (9/12) at 7:30pm – Ever wondered what Shakespeare would say if he saw a rival musical on our local stage? These two Bottom brothers went full-on tap-dancing extravaganza to steal his thunder. Expect over-the-top costumes, cheeky jokes, and enough high-kicking numbers to raise the roof.
This weekend
🤝 National Day of Service @ Sandy Point Beach | Saturday (9/13) at 9:00am – Join us at Sandy Point Beach for a cleanup that feels more like a block party by the water, minus the corporate sponsors. You’ll rake sand, paint railings, laugh with neighbors, and pretend it’s “exercise.” All ages are welcome.
🦞 2025 Boise Boil @ Kristin Armstrong Municipal Park | Saturday (9/13) at 12:00pm – Grab a plastic bib and slide into the annual Boise boil, where spicy crawfish, cold brews, and local gossip simmer in one giant backyard feast. Consider this your official excuse to slack off on cooking, or volunteer to wrestle mudbugs, just send me a PM.
🚗 Urban Legend Road Rally | Saturday (9/13) at 4:00pm – If you’ve been waiting for a sign to upend your backyard-bore summer, here’s your excuse. Grab a team of up to five and zip around town on a laugh-filled scavenger hunt, decoding GPS riddles over snacks, surprise detours, and a shot at a ten-grand jackpot.
🧵 Quiltworx University @ The Grove Hotel | Sunday (9/14) at 4:00pm – Downtown Boise’s Grove Hotel turns into a quilt sanctuary Sept 14 to 19 thanks to Stitch n’ Snip’s Quiltworx University. Imagine mountain breezes, batik bonanza, and pro instructors shepherding you through jaw-dropping patterns. Finally, a creative week off you can brag about guilt-free.
🎸 Tom Keifer / LA Guns @ The Morrison Center for the Performing Arts | Sunday (9/14) at 7:30pm – Who says you’re too old for headbanging? Tom Keifer and LA Guns are bringing Cinderella’s anthems and fresh KeiferBand jams to town, complete with Tracii Guns’ riffs sharp enough to cut plywood. Expect nostalgia, ear candy, and maybe a stray guitar pick.
🎤 Gary Numan @ Treefort Music Hall | Sunday (9/14) at 8:00pm – Think you can handle a blast from the 70s future? Gary Numan lands in town packing killer synth riffs from ‘Are ‘Friends’ Electric?’ to his latest eco-apocalypse anthems. It’s retro, it’s robotic, it’s the only local sci-fi gig you need this season.
Next week
✍️ The Casual Writer’s Club @ Library! at Collister | Tuesday (9/16) at 6:00pm – Think of an evening where your rambling thoughts finally find an audience, minus the judgment. We toss around goofy prompts, trade a few drafts over coffee, and pretend we’re born storytellers. All skill levels welcome, even if your biggest plot twist is brunch next door.
🎤 The Symposium + John Myrtle @ Shrine Social Club | Tuesday (9/16) at 7:00pm – Live in the Shrine Basement, John Myrtle brings his deadpan humor and melodic side-eye to the mic. It’s a midweek sigh of relief, a chance to swap stories with locals who get your brand of sarcasm, and leave smarter than your to-do list.
