📰 In the news
New preventive heart program: NCH Rooney Heart Institute has become the first U.S. hospital using CaRi-Plaque and CaRi-Heart, AI imaging that analyzes CCTA scans to spot heart attack risk up to 10 years ahead — read the full story.
Safe passage in action: New photos show a variety of wildlife using an FDOT crossing, previewing the type planned for State Road 82 in Collier County through a partnership with Alico Inc and FDOT — see the photos here.
Discover local ways to serve: Leadership Collier Foundation will host its 10th annual Get Involved Collier volunteer expo on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Coastland Center. It connects residents with nonprofits and government agencies seeking volunteers — get the event details.
Compare rates for free: The national average for car insurance is around $175 per month. Paying more than that? Same, so I did some shopping around and ended up cutting my premium in half. If you haven’t checked in a while, you’re probably overpaying too — here’s the comparison tool I used.

Naples Dog Park: easygoing off-leash fun
For off-leash zoomies, locals lean on Naples Dog Park. It’s a low-stress, well-kept spot with an easy vibe.
The layout is thoughtful, with separate play zones for bigs and littles. Dog-friendly mulch underfoot and generous shade keep paws and people comfortable.
At the center, The Palmer House pavilion offers benches, drinking fountains for humans and canines, and a small picnic nook. A sidewalk link to the Greenway makes it simple to pair a sniffari with a longer stroll.
It’s city-run, tidy, and neighborly. Pups must be registered with the City and wear a dog park tag, which keeps things safe and familiar. Bring good manners; they’ll provide the water and good vibes when you visit Naples Dog Park any day.

🫶 We got your back
Naples fall street scene: The Third Street South Farmers Market has expanded for the season, now lining Third Street South between Broad Ave S and 13th Ave S through April. The year-round Saturday market is buzzing with returning snowbirds, longtime vendors with signature shell ornaments, and newbies like Gone Bananas Naples serving chocolate-dipped bananas. See when and where to go.
Season of giving begins: The Salvation Army of Collier County and Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots have kicked off their 2025 Christmas Toy Drive, now underway through December 12. Donate new, unwrapped toys at 150+ drop-off sites countywide or at the Toy Shop (3520 Tamiami Trail N., Naples) to help brighten Christmas for over 7,500 local kids. See how to donate or apply.
Provençal date-night energy: If French comfort is calling, Bleu Provence delivers Provençal charm, farm-to-table plates, and a Wine Spectator Grand Award wine list. Conversation lingers, the room glows, and that last pour often feels inevitable, with unhurried service that lets date night unfold.
An emergency vet visit could cost you $7,000+ (ask me how I know 🙃). From the initial fee just to be seen to x-rays, surgery, medicine, and aftercare, it adds up quicker than a chew toy turns into a crime scene. The good news? You could get up to 90% cash back on your vet bill with this pet insurance plan.
Need new windows? It’s not the most glamorous upgrade, we’ll admit. But newer windows = lower energy bills and a subtle (but definitely noticeable) glow-up. If you’ve been putting it off or waiting for the right moment, Renewal by Andersen is offering a discount that just might seal the deal. Check it out here.
