Kelly Hunt

Kelly Hunt brings a distinctive contemporary roots sound that fuses old-time banjo tradition with modern songwriting and a clear, expressive voice. Her debut album, Even the Sparrow, reached a national audience and was a finalist for Album of the Year at the International Folk Music Awards, noted for vivid narratives, memorable melodies, and the soulful warmth of her vintage tenor banjo. Her music moves easily between past and present, grounded in Appalachian and folk currents while speaking with a modern sensibility. Rolling Stone Country highlighted a timeless, lilting folksinger cadence, and PopMatters praised her embrace of modernity, placing Even the Sparrow among its 20 Best Folk Albums of 2019. Working with producer Dirk Powell on Ozark Symphony expanded her palette, with Grateful Web observing that the album channels a sweeping American spirit. On stage, Hunt offers a close, captivating experience shaped by precision, warm tone, and nuanced control of both voice and instrument. Greil Marcus wrote in Rolling Stone that her performances can feel outside of time, where possibilities open wide. Tickets are $48 for Tier 1, $43 for Tier 2, and $38 for Tier 3.
