Hometown sound takes shape: The East Lansing Arts Commission has launched a songwriting contest celebrating East Lansing. A $1,000 prize awaits the winner. Entries are due April 15, with finalists announced in May — get all the details.

Nothing prepares you for a pet emergency: I learned that the hard way after charging $10k to a credit card for life-saving surgery on my cat, Miss Stache. As soon as we got home, I signed up for Spot. Itâs super affordable â and reimburses up to 90% of the bill.

𫶠We got your back
Breakfast sammie upgrade: GoodFellas Bagel Deli nails the crispy, chewy, salty, saucy sweet spot with bagel builds ranging from classic egg-and-cheese to loaded namesakes that never skimp. Consider it an easy morning win when you deserve better than sad desk toast.
Nature break, anyone? With a paved loop around the lake, playgrounds, and bring-a-picnic vibes, Hawk Island County Park delivers an easy, close-to-home reset, whether youâre strolling solo, wrangling kids, or sneaking in a pre-dinner walk. Itâs low effort, high smiles, and refreshingly simple.
Kid-joy, hold the chaos: Mother & Earth Kids makes fun fast with dress-up, games, puzzles, books, and plush…yes, those Jellycat snuggles. Littles can test-drive at hands-on demos, so you shop smarter. A low-stress stop for birthdays, rainy days, and just-because surprises that keep the smiles coming.
Why your last diet didnât work: Sustained weight loss is nearly impossible with diet alone. Your body literally fights back by making you hungrier the moment you start restricting calories. Thatâs why more doctors are recommending GLP-1s. The best part? Getting them has never been easier. We compared three programs to help you find the right fit. See which ones stood out â
Your data is for sale right now: There are over 400 websites selling your info to marketers, political campaigns, and scammers. Theyâve got your phone number, home address, relativesâ names⊠you name it. Thatâs how robocallers seem to know everything about you before you pick up. You can remove your info one site at a time, or pay a service to do it for you. Hereâs what we recommend â

Are you quietly overpaying for car insurance? đ
Premiums have been climbing across Michigan but most folks wonât notice until theyâre hit with a higher bill when itâs time to renew.
Thatâs exactly what happened to me. I had the same policy for half a decade. Autopay was on, it was out of sight and out of mind. Turns out I was blindly paying way more than everyone else I knew.
If you havenât checked in a while, youâre probably overpaying too â hereâs the comparison tool I used.
This house is wild
Custom built in 2020 by LT Schafer in Grand Ledge School District, this home features 9 to 10 foot ceilings, solar tubes, and a gas fireplace beside a chefâs kitchen. A spa-like primary suite and provenance-backed antique details add character. The finished lower level adds 1,000 square feet, with another 1,000 roughed for a kitchenette. A covered porch overlooks evergreens.
