The information gathered supports marine conservation efforts and the protection of coastal resources. No scientific background is required. Adopt-A-Flower invites Juneau residents to help fill community spaces with color by supporting the City and Borough of Juneau's seasonal plantings. Contributions directly fund 200 hanging baskets, 60 flower barrels, and 50 flower beds and planters placed around town at locations such as public libraries, harbors, Bartlett Regional Hospital, Twin Lakes, Sigoo Wu Ye, and other community parks. Donation tiers are available for every level of support, including Seedling Sponsor starting at $25, Flower Bed Sponsor at $100, Flower Barrel Sponsor at $250, and Hanging Basket Sponsor at $500. The first seven donors who give $500 or more receive a hanging basket from the CBJ Parks and Recreation Landscape Division. Many of the plants begin as seedlings in the Mendenhall Valley greenhouse, where staff nurture more than 16,000 young flowers before moving them to their summer displays. Community giving covers more than 60 percent of planting material costs each year, alongside support from Marine Passenger Fees, general funds, and revenue from Docks and Harbors, Bartlett Regional Hospital, the Juneau International Airport, and downtown parking. Haa Tóoch Lichéesh hosts community gatherings that center on learning from the land and, when food and medicine are plentiful, harvesting together. Sessions open with introductions and a walk, with harvesting considered only if conditions and permissions allow, then move into processing or preparing what was gathered. Respectful practices guide every step, including asking permission before any harvest, and there may be times when no harvesting occurs.

This one-day dance event offers two shows featuring solo, duo, trio, and group routines from nine competitive teams. Performers span ages 4 to adult. The TAFY Twinklers, Sparklers, Dazzlers, Firecrackers, Supernovas, Auroras, Stars, Elite, and Pre-Professional teams present many of their award-winning numbers. This is the only local chance to see many of these routines. Seating is limited.

Parks and Recreation teams up with Aukeman Triathlon to present a super short relay triathlon at Dimond Park. Participants can compete solo or in teams of three on a sprint-style course featuring a 150-yard swim, a 1.25 mile bike ride, and a 0.5 mile run, with combined race time determining results. Solo athletes complete the full sequence three times. Team registration happens in two steps. A captain creates the team and pays the entry fee, then each teammate signs up as a participant at no additional cost. Team pricing begins at $60 and later increases to $75, and registration remains open until capacity is reached. Entry is available to ages 12 and up, with athletes ages 8 to 11 eligible if they are current members of a swim team or if they have participated in, or plan to participate in, the Youth Triathlon Training Camp in 2025 or 2026.
