Indoor Defensive Shoots
Build practical skills in a series of indoor defensive shooting sessions at the Juneau Hunter Education Shooting Complex. Open to everyone, whether a member or the public, these practices welcome participants from novice to advanced and follow a format comparable to IDPA events. All shooters are required to fire from concealment, and a cover garment must fully hide the firearm. At least four participants are needed for the session to proceed.

Presented in celebration of Earth Day, this free planetarium show explores how climate and habitability compare across Venus, Earth, and Mars. Learn what scientists mean by the habitable, or Goldilocks, zone where liquid water can exist, and why only Earth currently has surface water. Trace clues that Venus and Mars once had water long ago, then consider how one world became intensely hot and the other turned into a frigid desert. The program looks at the processes behind these transformations and what they may imply for our own planet. Hosted at the Marie Drake Planetarium in Juneau. Seating is prioritized for guests with reservations, and additional attendees are accommodated as space allows.
