At Red Mountain Park, participants spend about an hour on the trails with six options tailored to different paces and goals. The fast group covers roughly 6 to 7 miles at about an 8 minute pace without walk breaks for experienced runners who want a strong effort. The intermediate group runs about 5 miles near a 10 minute pace with one quick regroup, balancing challenge and conversation. The fast fun group goes around 4.5 miles at roughly 11 to 12 minutes per mile for a steady run without racing. The fun group completes close to 4 miles around a 12 minute pace, running flats and descents, hiking the climbs, and regrouping as needed. The beginner group moves about 3 miles near a 12 minute pace with additional breaks, adding more walking on hills while keeping an easy running rhythm on the flats. The walk and hike group covers about 2.75 miles at a brisk pace, sometimes sticking to the BMRR South Trail and other times visiting the old mines and Ike Maston for extra elevation. Group leaders and sweepers help match participants to the right pace and keep everyone together so no one is left behind.
