Adventureland Theme ParkThe Great Downtown Book Move
Downtown Dothan partners with Downtown Books on a community effort to move the bookstore into its new home. People will line the sidewalks to form a human chain, passing books from the current shop to the space across the street. The occasion includes pizza for volunteers, music from a live DJ, prize drawings, and games and activities at Waddlington Park. Participation is open to teens, families, civic groups, and community members of all ages, whether for a short time or the whole event. High school students can earn up to three hours of community service credit, with two hours for volunteering and an extra hour when a parent or guardian helps alongside them. The move celebrates literacy, supports a local business, and highlights the community spirit that makes downtown special as the bookstore begins a new chapter.
Downtown BooksSummer Junior Golf Clinics (June 22-24, 2026)

This three day clinic begins with an introduction to the coaches and the game’s foundations, including etiquette, sportsmanship, keeping score, and the mechanics of a full swing. The second day reinforces those fundamentals and adds friendly competitions so participants can put new knowledge into action. The final day features three holes on the course alongside coaches, with players divided into two evenly matched teams for a head-to-head contest and a prize for the winners announced during the clinic. The fee is $200 and includes daily instruction, snacks, and lunch each day.
