Tuscaloosa Barnyard, Petting & Fun Farm

Tuscaloosa Barnyard offers a full day of hands-on farm fun with opportunities to feed animals, fish, and ducks, along with plenty of play areas to explore. Spend time with a fiberglass cow set up for milking play, climb the tire mound, race on the rat racer activity, dive into hay play, and enjoy swings, a giant 50-foot slide, a climbing web, a jumping pillow, a corn crib, and duck races. Water play is available at the pool and splash pad. Bring your own fishing pole if you plan to fish. Wagon rides and the cow train are included with Full play, and pony rides are available for an additional $5 during Full play. Outside food is welcome, and snacks, drinks, and candy are available for purchase. Admission is listed as $12 per person plus tax for ages 1 through 99, with no charge for children under age one, and some days list a $15 admission. Limited Play Days are priced at $12 plus tax and do not include the wagon rides or cow train. Participation is at your own risk. For questions, call (205) 454-8841.

Workshops & Classes

Summer Clay Camps

These summer clay camps, led by instructor Amy Smoot, guide students through the full ceramics journey, from shaping ideas in clay to glazing and decorating completed pieces. Participants explore hand-building methods such as slab construction, pinching, coiling, and stamping, creating both functional items and sculptural works while gaining confidence with each step of the process. Class sizes are kept small with a maximum of ten students and a minimum of three. Multiple sessions are offered for different age groups, including options for ages 6 to 9, 10 to 12, and a mixed 6 to 12 session. This workshop is supported in part by the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the Alabama Support the License Tag Fund.
