These summer clay camps, led by instructor Amy Smoot, guide students through the full ceramics journey, from shaping ideas in clay to glazing and decorating completed pieces. Participants explore hand-building methods such as slab construction, pinching, coiling, and stamping, creating both functional items and sculptural works while gaining confidence with each step of the process. Class sizes are kept small with a maximum of ten students and a minimum of three. Multiple sessions are offered for different age groups, including options for ages 6 to 9, 10 to 12, and a mixed 6 to 12 session. Aspiring artists can spend eight weeks creating with instructor Molly Nelko at Kentuck’s Studio 2. Each weekly session offers hands-on exploration of different media and techniques while guiding participants through the full process of being an artist, from developing work to preparing it for display. The camp provides two-hour classes with two age groups, one for ages 12 to 16 and another for ages 8 to 12. Projects cover self portraits, printmaking, collaborative pieces, still life painting, paper mache, and open choice activities, followed by time dedicated to getting everything ready for a show. The program concludes with a student-led exhibition in Kentuck’s Teer Gallery where participants present favorite works. Tuition is $250 and all supplies are included.

Bring blankets, chairs, or other comforts for the lawn. Stone bleachers line one side, though their spacing may not suit everyone, so personal seating is a good idea. Beverages will be available for purchase, including adult options, and admission is free with donations welcomed to support the production. QR codes on the programs will make mobile giving easy. If extreme heat or rain requires moving into the bathhouse, seating will be limited and capacity may be reached quickly, and updates about any indoor shift will be shared. Take a turn on the 50 foot super slide, climb the web, swing, and bounce on the jumping pillow. Cool off at the splash pad or in the pool, and try catch-and-release fishing by bringing your own pole. Duck races add to the fun, and full play includes wagon rides and the cow train. Pony rides are available for an additional $5 during full play. Outside food is welcome, and snacks, drinks, and candy are available to purchase. Admission is required for ages 1 through 99 plus tax, and children under one are not charged.
