Access Art
Explore art through dialogue and senses beyond sight. Access Art is a one-day, temporary program developed with the NWA chapter of the National Federation of the Blind that welcomes people of all ages, with or without vision loss, to engage with works through one-on-one conversation and nonvisual exploration. Experience pieces created by UA School of Art faculty, staff, students, and community members while connecting with others in a new way. A 3D printed tactile map of a Van Gogh painting makes its debut at this event. The program is free and open to everyone, and no registration is required.
Fayetteville Public LibraryGirl Scouts Paddle Boat Design at the Creek
Junior Girl Scouts explore the science of motion and buoyancy in an interactive creekside workshop that leads to the Paddle Boat Design badge. Participants step into the role of engineers as they imagine, build, and refine their own paddle boats with creative materials and practical design-thinking skills. They move through the full design cycle, brainstorming ideas, creating prototypes, testing their models, and making improvements while discovering what helps a boat travel effectively through water. This outdoor experience blends STEM learning with hands-on exploration along the creek, encouraging experimentation, problem solving, and plenty of splash-filled fun.
