Rock City Counseling 7 Year Anniversary

Rock City Counseling is marking seven years in business with a celebration focused on connection, interactive experiences, and educational keynote speakers. The milestone centers on the meaning of seven as a time for reflection, depth, and inner evolution, a pause to integrate what has been built and to step into what comes next. Over the years, the organization has held space for thousands of stories, witnessed transformation, and honored both the difficult moments and the breakthroughs that follow. The gathering celebrates a commitment to redefining healing, taking a different path, and building what did not yet exist. It affirms a belief that healing is not one size fits all, that body, mind, and the unseen all matter, and that new paths can be created when the old ones do not work. This event recognizes where the journey has been and the shift into the next chapter.

SpeakEasy: 60th Anniversary Celebration

Youth Home presents the inaugural SpeakEasy, a fundraising celebration of 60 years of hope and healing for Arkansas youth. Hosted at the Eastside Scrapyard, the evening is designed as an immersive journey that moves from quiet to conversation and from stigma to hope. It unfolds from thoughtful, reflective moments into a lively celebration. Guests will experience a culinary narrative told in courses, spanning smoky coal-fired dishes, fresh and restorative fare, and indulgent desserts, each complemented by thoughtfully curated beverages. Sophisticated jazz shapes an energetic atmosphere. Interactive art and design turn each area into a visual story of transformation, including the Finding Refuge experience and the Sweet Success celebration space. A silent auction offers distinctive items and experiences, with proceeds supporting life-changing mental health treatment. At its core is a commitment to expand evidence-based, trauma-informed care for young people. With teen mental health in crisis and suicide the second leading cause of death for adolescents, the event champions open, stigma-free conversation as a path to healing. For six decades, Youth Home has served as a trusted partner in Arkansas, operating a 52-acre natural campus that provides evidence-based residential treatment for adolescents facing severe psychiatric conditions and behavioral health disorders. This gathering honors that legacy while fueling the next generation of care. Individual tickets and tables are available, and sponsorship opportunities invite brands to align with a message of hope and healing. Astrology 101: Understanding Your Big 3

Curious why your zodiac sign does not always feel like the whole picture? This introductory astrology class explores the Big 3, your Sun, Moon, and Rising, to illuminate core identity, emotional processing, and how you naturally present yourself. As you see how these three parts interact, astrology shifts from simple labels to meaningful self-understanding. The class uses the Whole Sign system, a clear method that helps beginners read and apply their birth charts with confidence. You will work with personalized worksheets that highlight your own chart, including special attention to the Rising sign. Guided reflection invites you to consider what truly fulfills you emotionally and why you respond the way you do. You will also receive take-home materials to continue learning after the session. Expect to leave with a fuller sense of your inner world, your needs, and your patterns in life and relationships. Many people find that learning their Big 3 gives words to feelings and tendencies they have sensed for years. This session is a starting point, and future offerings will look at how these placements operate within the entire chart for deeper insight. The class is led by Ashley Douthit, who has studied astrology and tarot for more than three decades, beginning at age eight. She is the author of Who in Astrology Are You and teaches a popular course on Udemy, with a focus on making astrology approachable and useful for personal growth. Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing after class. The fee is $30, and advance registration is requested.

Exhibition on Screen Presents, Matisse from MoMA and Tate Modern

An intimate behind-the-scenes film explores the final chapter of Henri Matisse’s career and the vibrant cutouts he created by “carving into color.” Shot at both MoMA and Tate Modern, it follows the preparation and presentation of The Cut-Outs and highlights the conservation of MoMA’s The Swimming Pool. Exhibition footage is interwoven with Matisse’s biography and contributions from curators, historians, and people who knew him. Special guests include Tate director Nicholas Serota, MoMA director Glenn Lowry, jazz musician Courtney Pine, and Royal Ballet principal dancer Zenaida Yanowsky. Simon Russell Beale gives voice to Matisse’s words, with narration by Rupert Young. Apollo Magazine praised the film’s portrayal of Matisse at work and noted Beale’s readings. Seating is general admission. Beer, wine, and concessions will be available. Complimentary parking is offered with validation for paid ticket holders.
