2026 Big Dam Bridge 100 Training Program

A structured training ride program created around the annual BDB100 helps Arkansas cyclists prepare for event-day success while building connections with local riders, clubs, and bike shops. Participants are organized by experience and goals, with options tailored for those targeting the 26-mile and 50-mile routes. It welcomes brand-new riders getting comfortable on a bike, enthusiasts looking to sharpen safety and technique, and anyone interested in learning to ride confidently in a group and meet fellow cyclists. Registration costs $50, is limited to the first 120 riders, and requires a minimum age of 12. The program begins with a kickoff meeting and then rolls into a season of guided training rides, with many departing from Murray Park, designed to gradually build skills, fitness, and group-riding confidence. Four rider groups provide a clear path for improvement. Beginners with little riding experience receive extra support. Riders with some experience who are new to group riding can focus on completing the 26-mile course. Weekly recreational cyclists can aim for the 50-mile course or work toward a faster finish on the 26-mile route. Experienced cyclists concentrate on pacing, fueling, and smooth cooperative pace-line skills, preparing for the 50-mile route with the potential to stretch to 75 miles. The schedule includes a dress rehearsal at the Young Life River Classic and culminates with the BDB100 itself. Community supporters include Spokes Bicycle Shop, Phat Tire Bicycle Shops, Shift Modern Cyclery, Mello Velo, and Rev Rock. For more information, contact the Training Ride Coordinator at BDB100Training@gmail.com.
