The Kellogg House Ghost Tour at Heritage Museum of Orange County highlights a remarkable residence built in 1898 by Hiram Clay Kellogg, among the earliest examples of Neoclassical Victorian architecture in Orange County. After the death of his first wife, he built the mansion for his second wife, Helen, and incorporated a passion for tall ships into the design, including a spiral staircase that climbs three stories around a central mast and a crow’s nest with no floor. Hiram died in 1921, and Helen continued living in the house for 42 more years, ultimately passing away there. Reports of unexplained happenings now suggest the presence of Kellogg family spirits within this distinctively designed home.
