Take an easy paced, mostly flat 5 mile walk through the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, a rare Southern California wetland on the traditional lands of the Acjachemen and Tongva. The outing lasts about three hours and welcomes newcomers. Each visit offers something new to see or learn, with leaders sharing knowledge about local history, birds, plants, geology and community issues, and participants often adding their own insights. Guest speakers are welcome. Bring a camera, water, sun protection, a hat and light hiking boots. Rain does not cancel. This ecological reserve has no restrooms, and dogs and drones are not permitted. Street parking is available, and arriving early is recommended. Minors may attend with a parent.
