Man on the Moon – A Tribute to the King of Pop

Strut Performing Arts presents its 9th Annual Summer Production, Man on the Moon, a high-energy tribute to Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. The production traces the music, movement, and onstage magic of an artist who transformed entertainment and continues to influence music, dance, fashion, and pop culture. From beginnings with The Jackson 5 to a groundbreaking solo career, the show touches on milestones like Thriller and spotlights a style recognized around the world, including the moonwalk, the robot, the iconic glove, and the fedora. Every rhythm and pose becomes storytelling in motion, reflecting how he felt music and turned it into movement that inspired generations to dream bigger and create without limits. Rooted in childhoods filled with music and living-room dance sessions, the creators acknowledge the parents who turned up the volume and encouraged imagination, leading to the passion seen on this stage. More than a simple homage, it is a heartfelt celebration of a visionary whose sound spans pop, hip hop, R&B, rock, and contemporary dance, brought to life by dancers who channel that spirit the moment the music rises and the lights meet the floor.
