Hero Play Day at Kiddie Academy of Pasadena is a no-cost community gathering with superhero-themed adventures and playful learning activities that inspire each child's inner hero. Musical Storytime pairs the Pasadena Conservatory of Music with the Gamble House for a playful blend of reading and music under the large oak on the lawn. Guided by Rachael Denny, Chair of the Conservatory’s Young Musicians’ Department, children’s books become instruments for musical exploration with themes of seasons, nature, and creativity that connect to the house and grounds. This session highlights Together by Mona Damluji. Bring a blanket and snacks for comfort. The program is free and open for walk-ins with no reservations needed, and it will be canceled in case of rain or if temperatures exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Support comes from Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts through its annual Pasadena Showcase House of Design.

A returning clean comedy showcase curated by comedian and producer Sandy Velasco brings together local and national headliners with credits from America’s Got Talent, NBC, ABC, and HBO, along with stages such as The Comedy Store, Laugh Factory, Hollywood Improv, Don’t Tell Comedy, and MicDrop Comedy San Diego. Velasco is an actor and comedian who produces clean shows throughout the San Gabriel Valley. She has performed for more than a decade on screen and on stage, with appearances that include NBC, the Netflix Is A Joke Festival, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Improv, and The Comedy Store. Previous lineups have featured Erica Rhodes of America’s Got Talent, Joe Wong from Letterman and Colbert, Ron G, an Emmy winner, Kevin Camia from the Colbert Show, Erik Rivera of Comics Unleashed, and Kasaun Wilson, a writer for John Stewart. The roster may change.
