The GrapeArt + Poetry = Magic!
Artists from Studio Channel Islands Art Center and poets from the Ventura County Poetry Festival come together for a warm blend of visual art, spoken word, and live guitar. Mollie Doctrow, Mary McGill, Judith Hopkins, and Julia Pinkham share woodcuts, sculptures, and paintings while discussing how a spark becomes a finished work. Crystal A.C. Salas, Phil Taggart, Jennifer Kelley, and Ron Fullerton read poems inspired by favorite pieces, followed by a conversation about the connection between images and language. The program also includes original guitar music created in response to several artworks. Admission is free thanks to support from Vibe Well, and donations to Namba Performing Arts Space are welcome.
